I wish I could study the scriptures in a way that you talk about. However, due to visual impairment, I have to listen to audiobooks or UA-cam videos or podcast, etc., and it’s kind of hard to go back and make notes in the margins or highlight certain things so I find it a struggle to really study the Scriptures so I really do appreciate your videos. I also find that if I study or listen to too much I don’t get as much as if I take it in small sections and think about those sections so. I know there’s been times when I’m suffering with a chronic pain condition that I’ve doubted my heavenly father‘s love, but that only comes and goes nowadays and most of the time I realize it’s just stay refining process That I go through.

To me it sounds like you are doing tbe best you can in your situation. A great example to many. And I think it is a (hard) Truth that the more we suffer, the closer we are to the Lord. AND I believe the More HE can show his love for you. Thanks for sharing your situation with us. Wishing you the best for each day.

Thanks for so skillfully navigating through some difficult scriptures and principles. My personal takeaway is "The measure of my success is NOT how others use their agency but how I use mine."

I would really love if you would teach an interactive class, like an adult institute class! Please, please consider it! This would be one of the few things I would give my time and energy to, like I do each week with your videos. I can’t express how these videos have blessed my life each week. You are truly a wonderful and gifted teacher Tyler, very patient and Christlike. Thank you with all my heart for your time and efforts!

Thank you so much for teaching us how to gain more from the scriptures. Before I retired, I, unfortunately, was one of those that just checked the box. I felt like I didn't have time to ponder on what I've read. I was too busy?!?!?! I can anyone be too busy to get closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? Taking care of my family (which is important), taking care of the house, working, ministering, genealogy, etc. was just too much for me. When I retired, I'm now able to ponder more on the scriptures. Though I haven't totally gotten the understanding of the footnotes. It's wonderful that events that happened over 2,000 years ago, can still be relevant in our day, but they are. Thank you for all you do to assist us in getting closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. You are truly a blessing to all of us.

It seems to me that truth and pure doctrine is taking a back seat to a sophisticatedly deceptive pseudotolerance.
Boyd K. Packer said: "The word tolerance does not stand alone. It requires an object and a response to qualify it as a virtue. . . . Tolerance is often demanded but seldom returned. Beware of the word tolerance. It is a very unstable virtue.”
    Thomas S. Monson said:
"My young friends, be strong. The philosophies of men surround us. The face of sin today often wears the mask of tolerance. Do not be deceived; behind that facade is heartache, unhappiness, and pain. You know what is right and what is wrong, and no disguise, however appealing, can change that. The character of transgression remains the same. If your so-called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone."

The portions from CS Lewis are great. There are many things I love about the way Tyler teaches, but the way he breaks out and focuses on certain aspects of these scriptures. For example-when he talked about the followers that were burned horribly. Tyler expounds on that and emphasizes that these are people that Amulek had known, probably some close loved ones. And how hard it must have been for him to witness such a horrific scene.

Thank you Bro Griffin for an amazing lesson. There were and are so many beautiful insights from this presentation. I was thinking about the believers who were murdered by the wicked leaders. It's interesting how these leaders chose to murder their own people, yet they twisted it around and blamed it on Alma and Amulek. This dark behaviour and dark deep intention is so bad, and is as bad as it gets the way I see it.
I thought about those innocent people and tried to understand why they weren't spared. It wasn't their fault. I tried to understand Alma's words, too, when he told Amulek the innocent were not meant to be spared at that time. I looked at Alma's words and really reflected on them. There are so many examples of people past and present taken from this earth in cruel and unjust circumstances.
Alma's words have been a comfort to me in this instance.
I believe the words said to Amulek apply to everyone who exits this world in extreme and traumatic ways. I believe they, too, are received in the same manner as the people of Ammoniah.
Despite how one exits this world, on the other side of that journey is love, light and open arms. This is an important insight to me, and this is the way I interpret the words of Alma.
The lives and words of the Prophets are a huge strength to me, I love learning about them and taking comfort from the way they lived ❤

I think it is a bit hypocritical to expect or think bad things will not happen to the righteous, when the most righteous individual to ever live was tortured, suffered and died for all of us. If the worst can happen to Him, why would we think it could not happen to anyone?

I always like it when you bring notice to "nevertheless " when it's in a scripture and what it means. I've found myself paying more attention to a scripture when it includes "nevertheless ".

I think the reason Alma taught about the Priesthood to the people of Amonihah is that the Order of Nehor was a priesthood order, and the people thought that they had a legitimate authority of some kind. Alma was trying to teach them about the true reason and purpose for the priesthood as pointing to Christ. This priesthood started in the pre-existence and we received these great ordinations based on our obedience before we were born, as Alma taught. Verses 3-9 in chapter 13 are all talking about what happened in the pre-existence. I am not sure why you did not teach this. Also, we CAN enter into the rest of the Lord in this life - it is not just for us after death (Moroni 7:3).
