You are soo right. Our Prophet was send as a mercy to us. To bring good news to the believers and to warn the disbelivers. So Allah encourges the believers to continue doing good deeds and warns the disbelivers (giving them a chance to change/repent/improve) to stop doing unjustice. Our Lord is the Most Merciful!
