Peter Foster and I attempted a ground up ascent of Freerider in late October. We failed to send the route but still had a high quality adventure up on the big stone.
Inspiring how you didn't send a bunch of stuff but you still had fun and enjoyed the wall + each others company! Getting into climbing in Yosemite coming from gyms back home I find myself so insecure about my performance, caught up in attachment to outcome and distracted by my frustrations as if I'm still on plastic comp boulders. So much footage here of sending done by insane legendary world class athletes who are awkward to talk to when they show up at my work lol. Refreshing to just see a good time. Loved this a lot.
Another classic for the “Fun Hogs “ The Big Stone has become a playground for you all, well deserved, a few dues paid but still get a 10 for style, the feather looked like a Flicker (falcon food), thanks again for the latest from your continued adventures! 🐺👍🤪
Excellent mix of hard climbing (oof, those runouts and presses!), life on the wall, and climberly introspection. Thanks for taking the time to put this together and sharing!
30 years ago that was a white knuckle experience for us, completely aiding everything. You guys have this so dialed and thoroughly enjoying the experience. Well done.
How do you work through the fear? Are you just always afraid and that's part of it? It seems you trust the equipment enough to do silly fun stuff but when you're actually climbing it seems scarier. Can you describe it?
Love this channel, my favorite climbing one on youtube. Its the raw video that draws me in, Id hate if it was all edited with tons of music and b-reel and shit. I wanna feel how it is to be there (as much as is possible) and thats what you provide!
@@smartmonkey777 Alex and Tommy did the Nose in 1 hour and 58 mins. An easier route than Freerider but still an incredible feat! Most climbers take 2-3 days to do the Nose
@@srksharma8199 The Nose is 5.9 C2 whereas Freerider is 5.12d-5.13a with the V6-V7 boulder problem halfway up, The Nose is one of the easier routes on El Cap which is why it has been the go-to speed record for the pros

Is it sketchy at all having the rope running over edge while Tyler is working the boulder problem? Or am I just paranoid? Would it be better to put a jacket or something down as a makeshift rope protector?
Hey Tyler! Were you guys original backers for the G7 Pod? Or did you order them after the fact? I’ve thought about ordering one a couple times, but they don’t give any estimated deliver dates and it always worries me haha
It’s cool to see how brutally hard this really is, instead of just looking at sending footage.
Amazing raw footage of what’s it’s like to be up there. Love that you don’t bother with intro’s and begging for subscribers. It’s so pure.

Can't win'em all.
Gives you something to go back to.
Excellent film, taking and making.
Thanks guys.

A genuine inspiration! Thanks for painstakingly videoing all your climbing, it's my favorite dinner ritual every night!
Great video dude! Super funny to see us sleeping on the spire 😂
Yeah dude!!! It was great being up there with you guys. Stoked to see Brant's vid when it comes out

Was that Brette Harrington?
I was in the valley staring at the wall with binoculars. The week of oct 15-22. I’m almost positive that I watched you guys. I could be imagining 😁
As a Novice i can see that is not an easy climb. Very complex and unique. Excellent film work.
dude whats with the ropes? i saw a movie this guy did it with no rope cmon now.
hahaha just kidding. love this content! thank you!!
Watching this makes me even more in awe over the fact that Alex Honnold free soloed this entire route in just under 4 hours. Absolutely superhuman
Fucks sake new this comment was coming
This is the same route he did in under 2 hours no ?

Dude nice effort! Keep crushin. Thanks for all the cool POV of Freerider.
Is “can I free solo this?” a one-time thought or continuously in your mind through the whole route?
I for sure thought about it a few times up there. Climbing that route definitely enabled me to see Alex's solo in a different light than most.
thank you for uploading in 4k. absolutely awesome video

The chemistry between you too is so enjoyable to watch. Dope edit.
Big thanks for making this video, Tyler. I wish I was in the valley!

You're chillin. Woooooooo
