Great info taking time to go over this is very helpful! The early generation drive by wire systems were sketchy from GM on the v-6 engines... my 01 v-6 Camaro would search at idle all the time and varied when cruising. And it did that without throwing a CEL... craziest thing I had ever seen....
Most companies early versions were kindov bad. I remember how i hated that system when it first became popular because they all had such slow throttle response

I am wondering if a bad ECM would/could throw codes p2101, p2106, p2110, p2135, p2138. p2135 only showed up only a couple of times. I'm just wondering if you can answer a question I'm really having a hard time getting my car fixed I put three different parts in by so-called makeshift mechanics and I'm asking is there a difference between a throttle pedal position Aor and a throttle position sensor A?
Depends on the vehicle. But with drive by wire vehicles. There is usually a sensor a in the pedal and b in the throttle body. What problem is your car having?
How do u do th throttle relearn I have a really good scan tool. I have 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix gtp supercharged and my supercharged is kicking in but it's Like the throttle fucks up.at a certain speed and then when I'm reading my Love data for the thrittl the car Will be Off and key turned on to on position but the throttle angel Will he anywhew from 4% to 22% and I only even have touched the pedal yet
The re learn is a function that you have to use a higher in scanner for, I know the one that we had at the shop would do it, and of course the Tech2 will do it

The throttle valve (or butterfly valve), is it stay closed when the engine is not running? I found the valve is staying open when the engine is not running
Just got this car and it throws 02138. Replaced gas pedal it wasn't the issue. Started up this morning and worked great on my way to work, no check engine light surprisingly. after work it came on again. Engine power low, stabiltrack, and traction. The issue is, the throttle body is really shiny and not gunky as far as I can tell, it looks like it was just replaced. Any suggestions? Could it be the pigtail connector to the tps?
I have a 2011 maxima, and i'm not getting any codes, but I will be driving normally, and all of a sudden I will get no acceleration or throttle response with with the pedal pressed down all the way. If i release the accelerator pedal and press it again, I will then get acceleration again. It happens intermittently while driving. I already had both the throttle body and pedal sensors replaced, with the same result. Any ideas on what would be the cause? Last thing I had done to the car was replace alternator.
Can a flat battery throw this code? T31 Xtrail sat still for 5months, jump started, driven to mechanic for clutch replacement, jump started at mechanic & put battery on charge, vehicle collected and within 15mins of driving it had sluggish acceleration and throws P2138 code.

2005 Grand Prix runs fine until I mash pedal hard then reduce engine power comes on if I drive it easy accelerate gently it's fine if I floor it does it again . Is that pedal or the TB causing it ??? Please help
Thanks for the reply I bought this Grand Prix GT for my 16 year old his birthday was yesterday . It's has only 67,000 miles on it a family member had a stroke 3 years ago and the car sat for 3 years until I bought it and it was running fine changed oil and put gas in it flushed cooling system it was running great until I floored it then the reduced power came on and engine light let it set and it drove fine again until mashing the pedal then same thing if I drive easy it doesn't happen . I unhooked battery reset the light drives fine until I get on it . I cleaned the throttle body it wasn't really dirty . I think it might be the pedal assembly . Because it only happens if I drive it and floor it a little hard I don't want my son getting hit because the car lost power on acceleration pulling out into traffic that's when it does it
@@SalemDoyleby the way it's an 2005 Grand Prix GT I haven't put it on a computer yet to see what code comes on I'm just guessing at this point but the way it acts I suspect it's the pedal
This morning I cleaned out the air box put in a new air filter and reset it again it's been running right all day so far no engine light or reduced power hope it's fixed knock on wood
What if you install new throttle body assembly and installed a new accelerator pedal position sensor with new pedal and the code comes back after a week?
Brilliant way of explaining the solution...thanks.

The numbers can be slightly different from car to car, that's why the real learn is important, because no 2 cars are necessarily exactly the same
Mostly come of the numbers on both sides just need to match, and you need to look for things like dead spots where it suddenly jumps to 0
The throttle valve (or butterfly valve), is it stay closed when the engine is not running? I found the valve is staying open when the engine is not running
I think they default slightly open

Check to see if there is a tbrottle relearn procedure that it needs to go through

The dead battery should have reset that code so if its coming back there is probably a problem.
Would you say a drop in battery voltage to 10.7 volts would kick the 2138 code on a 2007 Cadillac CTS v6 2.8L?
Possibly. That voltage is low enough to cause lotts of issues

this problem can be caused by problems with the pedal or the throttle body. your best bet it to have them both tested. or replace them as a set.
I've replaced both throttle body sensor and accelerator pedal sensor. When I press on gas pedal, it does nothing. Any idea what is going on.
