The MK3 golf you had before was the best “project car” in the whole of UA-cam! It had so much character and you could see the enthusiasm and how much you loved it.
I had one of these years ago,1996,black 5 door,1.4 petrol,black and a CL version,central locking and power steering,got it lowered and a set of banded steelies,swaped them seats for a vento GL interior in grey and some plastics inside too,super easy to work on these mk3's,reliable and cheap to run,great fun car
Just about to buy one as my work beast. It's 7.5 x less powerful than my current daily. But im excited to add one of these to my little fleet. 950 quid a month and a half my fuel savings will pay for it. Thumbs up for the golf
Tbh the smallest engine to weak for Golf3 it should at least be 1.6 75PS I have this one and it is quite fast for my taste (or better fast enough)😆Butof one only drives in the town then 60PS might be enough. My engine has only 101k km and quite new Zahnriemen(engl?) perhaps this is why it is pretty quick for only 75PS
I have a Mk3 1993 it has electric windows, mirrors but the engine is so basic 1.9 TD 75hp. Imma make a video soon restoring it from 0 to 100. I have it in ownership since 1994, first owner was my grandpa. xd

Painted bumpers is a option right? More into Mk4. The basic basic model does have like black/grey bumpers if im not misstaken. Do not know if that is a option in the UK😁
Wonderful little cars. Sooo much character. Wish I still had my little 97 Mk 3 Golf 1.4 CL. It was mint. No rust anywhere. I put a GTI kit on it and some Ronal LS wheels.
You inspired me to get into the VW scene when I still didn't have a licence 👍 I bought a B3 Passat last year and sold it because I'm finally looking for a mk3 Golf 😀 can't wait to pick one up

I'll always have a soft spot for cars from the 90's. Can fix everything with a hammer and sellotape ha! I have to say, I love this wee Golf and I think the MK3 is nicer than the MK4.
Good to see you back in a mk3, white is a rare colour to find a mk3 in btw not a common colour, also your tow bar is an optional extra! But welcome to the 1.4 Cl club! Surprising nippy I found but each to there own, will look forward to new videos!

What an absolute shitbox!! I'm all for fixing up a car but you could have got a GTI in that condition for that money which at least would have given you a better starting point
@@LukeBudd I know the feeling it's just you'll easily spend more than the difference modifying it to even get close to a decent spec! I saw you at Santa pod, I have the fjord blue mk3 and just finished 1.8t swapping to a crazy high spec so I know how to sink some money into them haha
@@brilledwards Yeah i get that, I weirdly prefer the looks of the basic spec mk3s over the others. Also it's a long term project that I want to make my own, so i'm happy to sink loads of money into it 🤣 1.8t sounds mental in a mk3, I did think about attempting that swap!

The original look its better. No need to add muscles on it, my opinion. Im very happy you bought another mk3

how much more horsepower can you get out of the 1.4 instead of engine swapping?
I doubt I could get much more power out of it without stressing the motor too much!

@@LukeBudd Maybe I am not 100% sure about it. But if its AEE engine its 1.6, it could have Magneti Marelli injectors
