I know it's been a year, but those are called pinch harmonics I'm pretty sure. It's where you put your finger down on a fret(left hand)and then lightly place your index(right hand) on the 12 fret away from it(not placing pressure on the fret end), while simultaneously plucking the same string with your ring finger or thumb(right hand), and then letting off the string with both fingers(right hand). It's really hard to grasp the concept without seeing it so maybe look up a tutorial on pinch harmonics.

The side of the thumb lightly brushes the string, producing a very high harmonic--higher than a simple octave like these here. Just looking at a pinch harmonic, it kinda looks like the player is pinching the string. They're more common in heavier music, like metal or hard rock--not always with electric guitars and distortion, but usually. That said, you've described the harmonics in THIS video correctly. Fret a note with your left hand and lightly touch the same string, an octave higher, with your right index finger, plucking with another finger. Ichiko Nita, Lucas Brar, and Charles Berthoud do a lot of these. Bernth does a lot of pinch harmonics.
I meant to add: Edward complicates the 1:10 harmonics by also hammering a low note with his left hand, in addition to all the other stuff. He's very good.
