Just like my 98 Supra with 30k miles, in nearly mint condition.
Crazy how in the early to late 2000s these cars were considered your basic transportation. I’ve seen fair condition first gens that went for $1500 all day long on Craigslist . The appeal these cars had was they fit pretty much anybodies budget especially high school and college students who needed something affordable and easy to maintain. Parts were easy and cheap to get and aftermarket support was strong with one coupled with it being rwd making it a blast to drive for a cheap price. Crazy how nowadays you’d have to shell out 7k for one thats rusty with high miles or beat to hell and people fighting over to buy it. Back in late 2015 I ran across a completely stock 1997 240sx with all the features I wanted which was the 5 speed manual low miles 95k and all the power options for the year. Dealership was asking 20k and I thought it was outrageous then but now I realized that was a steal for a relatively rare example of an unmolested and clean 240sx that hasn’t been stolen, modded, or destroyed. The car sold within a week of the ad being up. It’s like the old Chevy c10 pickups you could’ve bought in the late 90s to mid 2000s for as cheap as $300 back than now people ask 10k or more in fairly ok condition. It sucks because now if you want to get your hands on a car that has the attributes that many enthusiasts want you’d have to save up a considerable amount to be able to afford a car you saw as a kid and wanted.
I went with a sr20det stock from a JDM S14 with the S15 stock ECU, S15 Transmission (6 speed), and S15 LSD. It feels like a different car. so much faster than the stock KA24DE, and it handles so good in corners. I love it! It screams with the HKS HI Power Bov with a HKS Hipower catback exhaust. that extra gear is much needed!
Those things were bullet proof; a friend of mine had one and he abused the heck out of it yet it never broke down and gave him 300k trouble free miles until he totaled it!

Yea the rice boys got there hands on them, pulled the KA24 out and put in that POS SR20 and drifted them, wrecked them and sent them to the junk yard. Knowing that this car was only made from 89-98 .... So what is left is left. I still have my 98 240sx and its in pretty mint condition with 100k miles on.
I have been offered $25k for my 98 240sx .... and $100k for my 98 Supra with 30k miles .... And i keep saying NOT FOR SALE ... Then the rich boys say everything has a price, then i say $200k and they laugh, and i say, I told you its not for sale...

@@MetikalMan I’m the opposite lmao i dropped out but I’ve never done drugs
.... Good luck finding one of these in complete shape without ruined by high school dropout drug users ...
AMEN to that .. !!
These Millennials and Gen Z kids are destroying these endangered cars. They drop them, invert the wheels to 45 deg and race them, wreck them and move on. No respect.
My 98 240sx i have had since 2004 and its in pretty pristine shape. Just like my 98 Supra with 30k miles, in nearly mint condition.
Ah yes, the truck engine noise lol
A car that I didn't appreciate when they were new. Now it's impossible to find one that hasn't been turned into a drift star.
Won't lie, that I thought the gen 2 240SX was sexy looking but my heart went more towards the Probe GT with the V6.
I Had a new 96 SE , blue emerald, w/ manual transmission, they handled great. Felt quick and light..I miss it
Yes! Finally the uploaded an episode on the S14!!
If nissan released this exact car today for 20k I'd buy it instantly. Much cooler cars for the money back then
@Erik W the closest modern car is a brz and its similarly priced. I'd prefer this because of the inline 4 over the flat 4 so yes I'd buy it
Absolutely 💯. Not a fan of boxer engines
20,000 in 1997. 2021: probably around the same price for one not abused. I swear, these cars are even more rare than the 180SX (1st gen 240 in the states)
Yes my car is pretty rare.
Didn't realize how good looking this car was back then 😀
This is The Best Designed Nissan Ever! & It Still Looks New!
What a cool little car. They were so rewarding to drive, slow , sure but there is something to be said for a small rear wheel drive car with a 5 speed and a sunroof. Like zipping around in a sophisticated go-cart.
0:42 They use that song on some of the older NASCAR races from the mid 90s. I forgot which channel they used this song on, either ESPN or TNN. They would use this song before they go to commercial break.
Before the Renault merger.... This is a real nissan.
I leased my first 1995!!! Loved this car!!! And kept until my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder;)
This is My Favorite 90’s Japanese Car Of All Time‼️
What a nice old Nissan car, I do wonder how much they sell nowadays in the used market
Absolutely beautiful still in 2021
If only you could still get these.
Yup, I'm never going to sell mine and keep it stock :)
These cars were made for professional business women, but it attracted more ricebois than hentai in the early 2000s
Business women were the people who bought them new--which meant they were still in excellent condition for second buyers.
@@kuebby or, from a misogynistic viewpoint, meant most of them had bodywork done or a bumper replaced at some point
Not nearly as many as the Civic.
AJ Haggerty and 5 wheel alignments 😂
Yea the rice boys got there hands on them, pulled the KA24 out and put in that POS SR20 and drifted them, wrecked them and sent them to the junk yard.
Knowing that this car was only made from 89-98 .... So what is left is left.
I still have my 98 240sx and its in pretty mint condition with 100k miles on.
Little did they know in 25 years people would pay a stupid amount for a 240 in that condition
I have been offered $25k for my 98 240sx .... and $100k for my 98 Supra with 30k miles .... And i keep saying NOT FOR SALE ... Then the rich boys say everything has a price, then i say $200k and they laugh, and i say, I told you its not for sale...
27 years*
I miss my champagne gold 240SX. It was a 95 as well. Best car I ever owned.
I had one of these, a pearl white one in 97, my first manual car.
Oh how professional women have changed.
1995 - 240sx
Today - Rouge
Regardless of Nissan's ambitions I don't remember this car being a huge hit with women let alone professional women. Celica and Prelude on the other hand both easily attained that as well as the v6 Camaro.
Hippie Bits completely agree. I’m just looking at their advertising efforts. And I completely agree with you. I’d throw in the mustang in that list as well
I picked one up with some front end damage back in the day. Got lucky tho, only thing wrong was the bolts on the bumper horns broke. So I replaced and got a front clip for it. Picked it up for 1100 bucks and put like 500 into it before the sr20det went in and got in trouble. Lol
My first car, black 95 SE. I miss her dearly
A lady friend of mine ran over a pallet laying in the middle of the Hiway in her almost new red 240 and insurance totaled it .
She must've been _pissed_ . I mean anyone with a car like that would be when some paper-pusher mindlessly totals their near-pristine S14.
She sent the money on an Escort wagon, 24 years no one knew any better

True.
Itc hard to tell when and how scarce something can become.
Aired June 1, 1994. Interesting how MW moved away from "MW93" designation.
Nice car.
It's so sad (to me) that RWD, 2 door, sport coupes are basically non-existent today (other than the too-big, too-heavy pony cars).
Brz, but nobody cares because it has no turbo
supra, but nobody likes it because of bmw help
370z, but nobody likes it because its old
Bmw z4, nobody knows about this car
@@shept.7736 I also just think that people expect to "have it all" anymore. They expect a perfectly reliable 1400hp grocery getter that can do everything, yet cost nothing... most are just in fantasy land.

This is true... love driving my 2012 2 door RWD G37
The UK spec ones were all 2.0 Turbos with 200bhp and would do 60 in 6.5 seconds. We never had this crappy version.
Motorweek, could you upload the show’s theme song music as a stand alone video? The last 20 seconds of this vid is so catchy.
0-60 in 7.3 seconds is actually surprisingly good... Seems like most sporty cars back then were in the mid to high 8's.
1996 240 SX 260,000 miles, little frame rust, $15,000 firm. NO LOW BALLERS. I KNOW WHAT I HAVE!!!
Lol!!
😂😂
“Ran last time I started it. Have all the parts, just don’t have time to install them.”
Suprisingly quick 0-60 time.
In Europe we had this car (as 200SX) with 2,0 Turbo, SR20DET engine, 200hp stock.
Wow , an actual great car 👍.
I’ll never forgot in 2003 some elderly man traded his in with only 15k miles, I bought it for 3k since I worked there. Kept it for years and sold it for 7k. Wish I would have kept it
This vehicle is really nice looking even when considering the rounded lines of its sheetmetal. The engine bay looks incredilby beautiful and the perfomrnace is mind blowing given its low horsepower output. If there are any current owners of this vehicle, perhaps their still enjoying the reving 4 cyinder engine with fast accleration in a formal roorlined, economically gas consuming vehilce.
One of the best looking cars Nissan ever made!
I would love this car new as my daily driver on 2021!! What an awesome looking car and it has all the features I need. Even a cellphone charger.
Yep. There's my car. Same color and year. Still have the KA24DE and a SR20DET in the garage.
Nissan SIlvia is the best looking Nissan in my opinion.
There was a time that just about every manufacturer had at least one sports car or sporty coupe in their line up. Too bad those days are long gone and nearly all car companies only seem to focus now on crossovers and SUVs.
