    Love that this is happening! Recall getting turned into Bob in 1982 as a ten year old and then in the 90s wishing they would do a film about him. That wish grew over the decades and while I was pleased the family held out so it was done justice kept wanting it more and more. Recalled hearing a rumor that it was perhaps a go but the sort of fell apart again so put it to the back of my mind knowing I would always have the music.
    So unaware it was in again that I was sitting to watch Mission Impossible 7 part 1 when the first trailer comes in was this. BLEW MY MIND!
    Can’t wait for 2024 to get here!

    In Heaven when… when we all stand before greatness and perfection. To greet us with the gift of music will be standing but a few shining stars that walked the shadows of the earth. Among them will be Bob Marle, a smile on his face and with peace finally prevailing.

    I can't wait to see it. However, this is just one small period of his life between 1976 and 1977. You can probably make a dozen Bob Marley films. I would love to see a Bob Marley film about when Bob performed in Zimbabwe on the day Zimbabwe got independence. Also, you could make a Bob Marley film on all of his womanizing. You could make a Bob Marley film on his youth and converting to Rastafari. You could make a Bob Marley film on his death and so many more it's crazy.

    • @nasimaali9646
      @nasimaali9646 Рік тому +5

      His Zimbabwe and Gabon concerts are iconic too with deep backgrounds. You could even make a biopic on his childhood years alone. Def his womanising too that would be 🤣

    Just watched a Bob Marley umentary and love Reinaldo Marcus Greene, especially his award-worthy work on “King Richard” and hopefully will interview him about both . This is a tough one, only cause Bob was so profoundly central to a whole nation’s perception and journey and to African countries liberation milestones or turning points! Don’t know any non fans so I’m optimistic and hopefully the family didn’t sanitize it too much! Good job on the trailer & look forward to the next one 🤞🏽👏🏽👍🏽😆💜

    Love the trailer.
    Investors had to have an actor that wasn’t going to give any trouble and be good in the locker room so to speak. The Marley’s would give too much trouble in the acting. They are not actors.
    Good job…at least in the trailer.
    We will see how it plays when it comes out in the theatre.

    I expected worse! (This seems to be romanticizing). However, the production of the images is beautiful, as is the reproduction of the scenes we know, which looks well done: (even if we only glimpse a few seconds in the trailer) ... I liked the musical I saw about Bob Marley --> Get Up Stand Up: The Bob Marley Musical (although I'm the kind of person who loves biopics, and I'm still not sure whether one should be made about Bob Marley or Amy Winehouse) ... The story deserves to be told, so we'll see. Normally, I like the lead actor. But here, I'm having a really hard time imagining him as Bob Marley, you can already tell they've softened the Jamaican patois a bit by changing the sentences so that everyone understands! I'm also having trouble with the fake dreads wig. The story of Bob Marley and his family is a movie in itself! I hope it won't be too romanticized for the cinema ...

      i Don't think there's any need of using A.i here, there are so many good actors out there who could sound just as better as Marley.

    Ironically in the 70" and first 80" Bob was not that much of a star/ icon/prophet as he's seen now (specifically in USA). Most sad thing is that some streams in 'Rastafarianism' don't give him the credits he deserves: just because his mother got pregnant from a white man. They see him as a mixed up/ half black. Spreading a hippie like message 😂😂. Bob Marley was and still is the King of reggae. And a true prophet.

    As a Jamaican I will say Kingsley Ben-Adir’s accent does not sound authentic & he doesn’t look or sound like Bob. I believe Kymani would’ve been a better choice. That being said, visuals, music & story line seem good.

      The real Jamaican patois of Bob Marley was a mix of him being African and white. Just a fact the actor who playing Bob Marley is paternal Trinidad and Tobago. Everyone knows reggae started in Trini with Calypso music and extended to Jamaica. Trinidad and Jamaica have huge ties to its Caribbean history Caribbean Caribbean
