You are always on the point that's why you are more successful without ads and many books. Good to see you are always doing best practices for the amazon algorithm.
I know this video is a year old, but I've only been using KDP for less than a month and I have about 10 published books so far. Unfortunately, I should have watched this before picking my notebook naming convention from people on Amazon doing it wrong. My account was temporarily suspended today, but I hope to do it the right way from now on once I'm back up and running. Thank you!
Cornell notebooks organize the notes in 3 rows, header box for subject, location, time and attendees (names or class), followed by two columns (1/3 : 2/3) followed by a approximate 1/5 box at the bottom for a summary, it is a very effective way to take notes in any meeting or lecture. It comes with guidelines on how to us the layout, so you can call it a system.
Love your strategies 👌 I must confess, I do play the first 4 seconds of your videos over again just to hear that melody intro again. Pls what soundtrack is that?
Hi Nuria, I have published a kdp activities book in the lockdown niche but is not selling at all. It's probably has to do with the title although the subtitle has the keyword "lockdown". Can I change the cover and the title and subtitle and republish it? Do you really need reviews to sell a book? Maybe you can make a video of some common mistakes that people are making when their books are not selling?
Very good questions and thank you for the video suggestion, I've put it on the list! Activity books are hard to sell I find when they are not niched down. I realise that lockdown is a niche in itself, but is it aimed at kids and if so, what age range? What I'm trying to find out is whether it is niched down further than lockdown. You can change the cover but not the title or subtitle, you would have to unpublish the book and publish it again as a new book. I wouldn't do that just yet, how long has it been live? Some books only sell after around 2 to 3 months. You don't need reviews to sell a book but they help. I hardly have any reviews on my books so it really doesn't matter. Hope this helps.
@@TheHomeBoss Thanks for your reply. It's targeted at older kids probably around 5 to 10 yrs old but I guess I did not niche down. It's published about 1.5 months ago. Ok. Maybe I'll wait a little longer and then try changing the cover title and subtitle.
Hello, Nuria. Do you mainly publish books with elaborate content, e.g. colouring books or books about other activities, or books with simple content, e.g. pages for entries?
Mainly books with very simple content. Except for my children's books. I only have one colouring book and it doesn't sell very well.I think different things work for different people.
@@oooBoEoNooo A bit of both, I started using Tangent templates, then created my own content as I was looking for different interiors, and now I use Creative Fabrica and make my own too.
@@TheHomeBoss Many thanks, Nuria :-) As a complete beginner I have big problems to commit myself to a niche. As a result, I cannot create useful and appealing content. What advice do you give to beginners like me who have the same problem? I hope the question does not sound silly.
@@oooBoEoNooo It's not a silly question at all, it's a very good question that a lot of people are wanting to ask because they feel the same way. I know exactly what you are talking about, I felt the same. But then I told myself to just start and put one book out there. I think it's best to just pick a simple notebook interior (I have a free one you can use, you find it in the description of the video) and then make a cover. Pick a niche, any niche and don't be afraid. Once your first book is out there, it gets a lot easier. Your first book is not going to be perfect, and once you can accept that, it gets easier. Think of it as a learning process. Don't look for perfection, look for the lessons you learn with each book you publish. You'll be a real pro very soon if you do that. And I know you can do it. :)
Unfortunately some things like title and subtitle can't be changed. It's to do with the ISBN number, once it is published, it exists forever. You can make changes to cover, interior, keywords and so on but not titles. You can try and contact Amazon, I have heard some people have done that and depending on what the problem is, they were able to change it. The only other option is to unpublish the book and re-publish a new one. Hope this helps.

I live in the U.S., and have never heard of 'Cornell Notebooks'. Is that the British name for a composition notebook? Just curious. Love your videos! I'm learning so much from you. Thank you.
cornell notes is a way of taking shorthand notes within a table, it involves bullet points and summaries. so i guess this book has the cornell notes table layout on each page
That's interesting Jules, I thought it was an American name, I've never heard it here in the UK :) I've looked it up and it " is a note-taking system devised in the 1940s by Walter Pauk, an education professor at Cornell University".
