What a great video. I watched from beginning to end and now and "a few hours later", here I am again. I do a lot of my own pressing but I have had a few fails so...... #press I have a high grade batman annual #1, Daredevil #2, and many others that I don't have the nerve to press myself.
Your presser receives high marks from me because of his honesty. I contacted him with an idea to doing CPR on a JIM #83 GCG 9.0. After sending your presser pics of my book, he recommended against CPR, thus costing himself some money. I was very appreciative of his honesty. Thanks for the video, Ryan! Very informative.
Appreciate it, thanks 👍. I wanted to make it more than just an advertisement but something that could help address the types of questions around pressing I often get as well.
#press Ryan, great video again ! I’ve never pressed a book before but would now consider it mostly due to your very informative and interesting UA-cam videos !

I’ve sent books to cgc since they started in 2000/2001. In those days pressing had a very negative stigma. I think with Matt Nelson taking over cgc the stigma has been eliminated and the hobby definitely changed for the better. Optimizing your book’s appearance and value is definitely the way to go for high end books !
#Press I got back into collecting and selling comics this year. So I’m still learning a lot .The Comic Book Presser does a great job on all my books. He has taught me some things along the way too. It’s a friendly family business and the communication is great . They will email you if they have any concerns about your books . My last submission was a Uncanny X-men 9.6 . Cracked , clean pressed it came back a 9.8 . Doubled in value . Good video , like always Ryan .

#press. Stopped with grading my comics. Got some bad experience with some pressers. Your presser sounds reliable. Next time I will send him some books. Thanks
Hi, congratulations, your comment was selected for the pressing coupon. Thanks for watching and commenting. Please reach out to me on Instagram or via email (both contacts are in the video description) and I'll get that coupon code sent to you. Thanks again for commenting!
#Press I have been researching pressers and the comicbookpresser was 1 of the 3 final companies I was considering. I'm just a bit nervous sending high end books since I am on the west coast. I may try low value books first to build my faith.
Hello. I understand your hesitation. We receive books from California on a weekly basis and when you send to us, they are at least heading in the direction of CGC. So they are not being mailed all over the country in different directions. Also, we have an option to use our Insurance for $20.00. You can choose that when you do a submission. When using our insurance, as long as our printed invoice is in your box and you choose Signature Confirmation, you books are insured to us and then again when we ship them to CGC.
Like I mentioned in the video, I’ve shipped 10s of thousands of dollars in books to him. Just make sure you use a sturdy box and plenty of bubble wrap and you’ll be good. I typically make “bricks” of about 10 comics each and wrap those in bubble wrap. Haven’t had any issues. If you send him some books to work on, please mention my channel as well 👍. Good luck with your future submissions.
@@AutomaticComics you are very welcome! I collect Bruce Lee and Brandon Lee memorabilia as well as comics and other pop culture stuff. I just sent in 14 silver age comics to CGC to get graded that I had in my collection since I was a kid. I will let you know how I do thru some episode I plan to put out. Plan on using your presser for my next batch as well. Thanks again and talk soon.
Hope this helped with your decision 👍. If you send him some books to be pressed, I’d appreciate it if you would mention my channel 👍. Good luck with your future submissions.
Great video, Ryan! You couldn't have posted it at a more opportune time. I'm preparing to make my first CGC submission and I want to use your recommendation for presser/cleaner. I was ready to search for their information in your past videos, but was pleasantly surprised to find that this newest video is dedicated to the very same topic. Thank you for your valuable recommendation and keep up the good work! #PRESS
I have had good results with the comic book presser. I have so many more I want to press, but I can never get myself to sell books to pay the cost, so it's a slow process. #press
The double cover seems an interesting challenge for a presser. A simple press without considering the torn cover may imprint the torn edge onto the inner cover. #Press
Hello. I am sure that would thrown someone for a loop. We have pressed similar double covers before and know how to not indent the inside cover with the outside cover. Great comment and I'm sure this would cause someone that does not know how to press it some stress.
@@TheComicBookPresser wow. Answered by the subject of this video. I did hear enough to know you would know better, but thanks for acknowledging it is something that must be considered. I may need to contact you about my "Diary of Eerie Adventures". It does not have a bad spine roll, but the spine is tilted at 45 degrees. Can that be corrected. Granted, I should be contacting you directly.
I was curious if the Comic Book Presser would press a book that's already been slabbed; that is if he will open the slab and press the book. I have lots of slabbed books that have never been pressed and cleaned. Thanks.
Before I started my own pressing, I sent 3 high value books to your guy for pressing, including one spine roll correction. Very satisfied with the results and subsequent CGC grades.
Listening to you talk about cost differences between half grades got me thinking a change to "grade step" may be needed. There are no half grades above 9.0. #PRESS
Pressing/cleaning definitely adds value (and I use thecomicbookpresser thanks to you (great work, professional, responsive) ----#PRESS-- -- but CGC grading is double edged value sword. If the goal is to flip/sell then yes, but for preserving (long term, for PC, etc.) CGC slabs simply FAIL at protecting comics and as such they can DECREASE value. For so many of them, the slightest handling jostles the book against the inner edges causing damage. For this reason, for some books, I am trying CBCS to see if their slabs are more protective even if the re-sell values are lower.
I agree that slabbing isn’t necessarily the best way to preserve a comic. Just a Mylar and a fullback will more than handle the job if that’s your goal. But yes, for resale (and presentation IMO), CGC is the best option available. Glad to hear you’ve been sending books to him. If you don’t already, please mention my channel when you do 👍.
I have a question on books that I think are 9.8 candidates. For some reason I think I should just send these in to get graded. I worry that pressing and the extra handling will introduce something to lower the grade. Is this possible or am I over thinking this?
