True, i'm playing wuwa w/out really keeping tabs on the war/drama for 6 months now, sometimes engaging on the topics of gacha games (including wuwa and genshin, hsr, etc) in another game and no war ensue. Just media thing lol.
It's just that a lot of people have spent so much time and money on their main gacha game to the point that they straight up cannot see another game on the same genre have it better or be more successful than their game since it would mean that all the shit they did would amount to being "lesser". No one hates the games, in reality people hate the communities, all the gacha communities no exception are full of garbage people, I play all hoyo games and gave wuwa a shot, I only hate how it wasn’t nearly as optimized as Zzz was on launch for me, I dont play it cuz Zzz just caught me, but I dont have any reason to hate wuwa, in the other hand having people from both sides always talking about the superiority of either game is just tiring, you got one side telling you that wuwa is garbage because the sales, then the other game is garbage because its lacking QoLs, in reality both are hot garbage because of the nature of the game (gacha) and because their communities just became an anime war drama like (jjk ending vs Mha ending)
Hate is too strong a word that you yourself do not understand why you use. I do not like wuwa for how it moves and reveals its story, for the fact that the last female characters are revealed by adding elements of a dating simulator and their feelings for the rover are their engine, I do not like the music because I just like hoyo-mix music more. But there are many things that I like, such as combat and the first characters who still had their own idea and their own revelation, but since the release, when now the whole tower, door and everything closes with closed eyes, even the combat is already boring, that's all. And this is not hate)
as someone who was introduced to gachas from genshin, started it in april this year, spent way too much money on it i recently decided to install wuwa and try it, sadly missed camelleyas banner, but now im prepping for characters in the future i really am enjoying the gameplay and how generous it is to new players
As an ex-Genshin player from 1.0, I can guarantee you that WuWa overall gameplay is better than Genshin. While gacha is still a gacha(iykyk), the reward is generous enough. The downside of WuWa is... it needs more updates

Teccy is not gonna do it, he maybe occasionally put his gameplay of some games but they do very bad viewer wise and for example, video over sekiro he uploaded in his main channel after a year almost made him only 50k views, while ragebait content can do that in 1 day, so he is not gonna put gameplaythroughs on his main channel and he is stuck with ragebait content.
I believe both Genshin & Dead by Daylight fall into that same category of games that kickstarted a genre but didn’t go far enough or even refuse to go further with the gameplay concepts they present. Now DBD might actually be further along that road but Gacha Impact really needs to mix it up since the “pandemic” is over.
I thought it was something related to the Jinhsi skin being too expensive or smth but turns out it’s just Genshin Impact players hating on WuWa again. And I’m saying this as a Genshin enjoyer: The community is just toxic. It never really ceases to Amaze me how different the community inside the game is to the outside. When I go Co-op mode in Genshin for example the players are all really nice to me and helping where they can, but on social media (especially Twitter) they aggressively target everything that they don’t like, including Genshin itself.
The wuwa vs genshin compare always gets me, I still get conversations now and again where a person hears me talk about playing wuwa and says “I don’t like genshin so I won’t try wuwa” and I’m like dam gone… here I go again
I just play both and have twice the fun. I have two AR 60 Genshin accounts and two level 75 and 78 accounts in WuWa. I get BP and the daily currency on both and only spend extra bucks once in a blue moon. I've been playing Genshin for nearly 4 years so I have an idea of when to pull, when to skip, so as to maximize the resources and always have some primos up my sleeve without spending the extra. I do all the dailies religiously on both, have 100% exploration on all 4 accounts, have all quests completed, never miss any events and free rewards. Some might think it sucks, but I'm a "mint picker". Just have fun with both, or play whichever pleases you the most. I don't see the point in tarnishing one or the other. At the end of the day, player of both games can only benefit from having these two rival companies breathing down each other's necks and it is indeed obviously noticeable that Genshin has been having changes and improvements more often than before, and it can be attributed to the competition. We are lucky to have them both. Enjoy.
I played genshin ever since the release and I could confidently say that the story of the game is 10/10 like wow. Now, I quitted playing it cuz of some reasons like I'm old now, I can't play everyday and I can't wait for a certain day to grind some materials just for a specific character. Genshin Impact made me feel like I'm in a prison or it is my "job" to invest my whole time grinding/playing the game. In the other hand, WUWA made some changes for quality of life, I can grind anytime/anyday, the story is a bit sht but overall it gave me goosebumps in other scenes (but Genshin still wins in this aspect), and their animation/graphics are way better than genshin, it's incomparable. Overall both are great games, both have similarities, well we can't deny that wuwa created inspired from genshin and pgr, open world and f2p friendly and amazing quality of life for players. If you are a person who have a lot of time and love anime-style open world dragon/knight type of sht environment go for genshin. If you love post-apocalyptic with a twist but a bit shty story but better graphics and quality of life for f2p players, go for wuwa.
i play genshin 2 days every 16 days and i absolutely love the game, i try to find all the waypoints and to the main event that has story and the main story, i think the Genshin story got better and better by the region, same with the event stories , the 2 Musketter event story left me speachless at how much i love'd it. The only gripe i have with Genshin really is the fact that the event stories aren't permanent as i find them integral and very important in understanding character motivation and actions or at least you get more context to the character life.
As a busy F2P player, wuwa is so much more better. Simply because I can build jiyan and his team in a month. I can skip story (I'll watch the story in youtube when I care). I can explore more easily and faster. I can do daily quickly and spend waveplates once per 3 days just fine. And the astrite? They are so generous that I can have calcharo, yinlin, verina, shorekeeper, jiyan S1, with all of their signature in half a year while not having 100% exploration everywhere.

From a Skip button to not consuming stam when sprinting such simple things! but they're so needed only if genshin cared enough to listen to us. Genshin just feels like it's going off track with it's story, Fontaine was peak but idk about natlan just feel to sleep through the whole archon quest. But So far I've been enjoying Wuwa practically all my friends on genshin switched too it and I can now see why. Maybe not a genshin killer rn but it has the potential if the devs never change 😅😅
As a definitely not casual player of Genshin. Their spiral abyss is fucking stupid. The Hp bloat (not even including the other stats being buffed to the moon) and the invincibility shields on mobs that previously didn't have them is artificial difficulty. The only way to get around it is genuinely to have top 1% rng luck for artifacts. If they do that bullshit to ToA I'm going to genuinely have an aneurysm
Investment. Either from time into the game or money, or both for those that do cosplays or collect the merch. Knowing there's a game that gives almost everything you wish Genshin had become hugely popular can really rattle folks.

Just started playing Wuwa, and so far it’s everything I wish Genshin was, like seriously. Having played Genshin as a side gatcha, I’m really happy to see Wuwa improving on pretty much everything I found annoying in Genshin Impact. Combat that’s actually fun and fast. Climbing that isn’t slow and annoying. Aaand no Paimon constantly yapping in my ear never letting my character fudging talk! lol, anyway, looking forward to seeing more of this game, now that I can finally play it on console.

But with Miyabi releasing in ZZZ and Zani being shown in Wuwa, the audience for female characters who don't dress like alley way prostitutes is showing itself more. I am a person who hardly played Genshin (i played to get to lvl 7 back in 2021 then dropped it immediately). While I don’t HATE Wuwa I definitely think it has its problems. My least favourite part of the game isn’t even the game but rather the community and that which surrounds it. The amount of negativity or glazing burns my eyes. Whether someone says the game is unplayable or the next coming of Jesus in Gacha form is irrelevant to me cos they are both ridiculous. At the end of the day wuwa is a decent game that shouldn’t be overhyped as it is still early into its lifecycle. Great character design and good world design (looking better with Rinascita) with bad story (imo 1.3 is the only good part) and okay EN voice acting along with smaller, more nitpicky problems. Just in case you were curious I just hit lvl 60 late last week and I am more of a ZZZ player. (You cannot understand how pissed I was when Saintontas brushed off ZZZ’s achievements and QoL when the said they are only doing as good as Wuwa cos they aren’t making as much money as HSR and Genshin.)

Teccy is not gonna do it, he maybe occasionally put his gameplay of some games but they do very bad viewer wise and for example, video over sekiro he uploaded in his main channel after a year almost made him only 50k views, while ragebait content can do that in 1 day, so he is not gonna put gameplaythroughs on his main channel and he is stuck with ragebait content.
I believe both Genshin & Dead by Daylight fall into that same category of games that kickstarted a genre but didn’t go far enough or even refuse to go further with the gameplay concepts they present.
Now DBD might actually be further along that road but Gacha Impact really needs to mix it up since the “pandemic” is over.
I thought it was something related to the Jinhsi skin being too expensive or smth but turns out it’s just Genshin Impact players hating on WuWa again.
And I’m saying this as a Genshin enjoyer: The community is just toxic. It never really ceases to Amaze me how different the community inside the game is to the outside. When I go Co-op mode in Genshin for example the players are all really nice to me and helping where they can, but on social media (especially Twitter) they aggressively target everything that they don’t like, including Genshin itself.

The wuwa vs genshin compare always gets me, I still get conversations now and again where a person hears me talk about playing wuwa and says “I don’t like genshin so I won’t try wuwa” and I’m like dam gone… here I go again
I just play both and have twice the fun. I have two AR 60 Genshin accounts and two level 75 and 78 accounts in WuWa. I get BP and the daily currency on both and only spend extra bucks once in a blue moon. I've been playing Genshin for nearly 4 years so I have an idea of when to pull, when to skip, so as to maximize the resources and always have some primos up my sleeve without spending the extra. I do all the dailies religiously on both, have 100% exploration on all 4 accounts, have all quests completed, never miss any events and free rewards. Some might think it sucks, but I'm a "mint picker". Just have fun with both, or play whichever pleases you the most. I don't see the point in tarnishing one or the other. At the end of the day, player of both games can only benefit from having these two rival companies breathing down each other's necks and it is indeed obviously noticeable that Genshin has been having changes and improvements more often than before, and it can be attributed to the competition. We are lucky to have them both. Enjoy.
I played genshin ever since the release and I could confidently say that the story of the game is 10/10 like wow. Now, I quitted playing it cuz of some reasons like I'm old now, I can't play everyday and I can't wait for a certain day to grind some materials just for a specific character. Genshin Impact made me feel like I'm in a prison or it is my "job" to invest my whole time grinding/playing the game. In the other hand, WUWA made some changes for quality of life, I can grind anytime/anyday, the story is a bit sht but overall it gave me goosebumps in other scenes (but Genshin still wins in this aspect), and their animation/graphics are way better than genshin, it's incomparable. Overall both are great games, both have similarities, well we can't deny that wuwa created inspired from genshin and pgr, open world and f2p friendly and amazing quality of life for players. If you are a person who have a lot of time and love anime-style open world dragon/knight type of sht environment go for genshin. If you love post-apocalyptic with a twist but a bit shty story but better graphics and quality of life for f2p players, go for wuwa.
i play genshin 2 days every 16 days and i absolutely love the game, i try to find all the waypoints and to the main event that has story and the main story, i think the Genshin story got better and better by the region, same with the event stories , the 2 Musketter event story left me speachless at how much i love'd it.
The only gripe i have with Genshin really is the fact that the event stories aren't permanent as i find them integral and very important in understanding character motivation and actions or at least you get more context to the character life.

As a busy F2P player, wuwa is so much more better. Simply because I can build jiyan and his team in a month. I can skip story (I'll watch the story in youtube when I care). I can explore more easily and faster. I can do daily quickly and spend waveplates once per 3 days just fine. And the astrite? They are so generous that I can have calcharo, yinlin, verina, shorekeeper, jiyan S1, with all of their signature in half a year while not having 100% exploration everywhere.

Personally I tried wuwa only this week and I've really enjoyed it. From a Skip button to not consuming stam when sprinting such simple things! but they're so needed only if genshin cared enough to listen to us. Genshin just feels like it's going off track with it's story, Fontaine was peak but idk about natlan just feel to sleep through the whole archon quest. But So far I've been enjoying Wuwa practically all my friends on genshin switched too it and I can now see why. Maybe not a genshin killer rn but it has the potential if the devs never change 😅😅
As a definitely not casual player of Genshin. Their spiral abyss is fucking stupid. The Hp bloat (not even including the other stats being buffed to the moon) and the invincibility shields on mobs that previously didn't have them is artificial difficulty. The only way to get around it is genuinely to have top 1% rng luck for artifacts.
If they do that bullshit to ToA I'm going to genuinely have an aneurysm

Just started playing Wuwa, and so far it’s everything I wish Genshin was, like seriously. Having played Genshin as a side gatcha, I’m really happy to see Wuwa improving on pretty much everything I found annoying in Genshin Impact. Combat that’s actually fun and fast. Climbing that isn’t slow and annoying. Aaand no Paimon constantly yapping in my ear never letting my character fudging talk! lol, anyway, looking forward to seeing more of this game, now that I can finally play it on console.

But with Miyabi releasing in ZZZ and Zani being shown in Wuwa, the audience for female characters who don't dress like alley way prostitutes is showing itself more. I am a person who hardly played Genshin (i played to get to lvl 7 back in 2021 then dropped it immediately). While I don’t HATE Wuwa I definitely think it has its problems. My least favourite part of the game isn’t even the game but rather the community and that which surrounds it. The amount of negativity or glazing burns my eyes. Whether someone says the game is unplayable or the next coming of Jesus in Gacha form is irrelevant to me cos they are both ridiculous.
At the end of the day wuwa is a decent game that shouldn’t be overhyped as it is still early into its lifecycle. Great character design and good world design (looking better with Rinascita) with bad story (imo 1.3 is the only good part) and okay EN voice acting along with smaller, more nitpicky problems.
Just in case you were curious I just hit lvl 60 late last week and I am more of a ZZZ player. (You cannot understand how pissed I was when Saintontas brushed off ZZZ’s achievements and QoL when the said they are only doing as good as Wuwa cos they aren’t making as much money as HSR and Genshin.)
