Who else has Peter Pan syndrome and doesn’t want to grow up?
(Watch the last clip in the video for it to make sense)
you’re not the only one 😂
People and employees who think for themselves and take responsibility are hard to come by and almost unaffordable! And your channel is a pleasure to watch! Best wishes from the other side of the Atlantic! 😉👍✌
Agreed. I o my have a few people that I could send on their own and completely trust.
Seeing you think through these different environments and decide how you would light and frame the shots was realllly fascinating to me!! And I loved those business/life conversations 🙌🏻 very enriching!
We had some good convos for sure
44 and I wish I kept your mindset. No, you're not crazy, never let it go. #KeepPushing! Love this video, thanks for sharing.
Peter Pan syndrome is real
63 old camera man , and keep skiing backcountry i the french alpes , getting old but stil loveing it !
That’s awesome. I’ve always wanted to try snowboarding!
You and Tommy both been motivating me for a while. Seeing you guys collab is pretty cool!
For the hi key lighting scenario I would’ve lit them with the 600 D and bounced on the opposite side for a fill. You could either use a 4 x 4 or if you want to travel light, you could use a five in one reflector, hang it off a small lightstand. I would’ve used the Pavo slim to light the scene in the background so that you have the entire high key look
Unfortunately that Pavo couldn’t do much against that large background.
Always have scrap duve in your kit. Easy to travel with. #1 grip clips and 2x3’ duvetyne and problem solved. You can bite into ceiling tile bars and if there isn’t we use 2x3 flags on a c stand over subject or raised all the way up. Diffuse is better than nothing, though. :)
I brought nothing for this gig. 😅 Just a DP
@@davidmorefield That’s right! But that will save you on gigs when you bring gear. And the attitude that there are no problems, only solutions. Good stuff. Just finishing 7 days in a row and a great April! Let’s keep that mojo good!
@@tonygarcia1986 I should definitely keep some in my kit. For some reason this quarter is super busy!
Great stuff man. I sure wish I could be this consistent with my content. Great to see you work with Tommy. Great guy!
Just turned 33 and feel like I'm still in my teens. Keep jumping and being young. I used to think immature meant something bad, but now I feel it's just people who grew too old too fast and forgot how to have fun. Life is to be enjoyed no matter if you're working or finding random shit ot jump on. It keeps us healthy and curious and fun to be around.
Skating, surfing, jumping 🙌🏻
Super fun trip man, thanks for putting in the work this week! Until next time🫡
Always fun 💪🏻
Sick jump! Keep active and stay fit. If you slack off it will be so much harder to get back into it.
Agreed 🙌🏻
Weheeyyy I made it to the video ! But yeah if it's the only light in the room yeah just difuse it or flag it off to one side then you can control with your key light without loosing room tone 😊 if you did get rid of it it would be a pain to bring the tone back up with your own light
Very true
I think exposing for windows is overrated. Unless there's something outside to see, I don't see the point and I'd rather let them blow out or re-frame so that I don't have windows in the shot (or just a small piece of the window to show where the light is motivated).
I definitely prefer to have window detail. Like you said, sometimes it doesn’t add anything. But usually I’d prefer to not have clipping. In the vlog that will be released tomorrow, the window was very important bc it showed the typical SF architecture across the street and that is important context to the interview.
@@davidmorefield If the talents head isn't interacting with the window you can lock the tripod down under expose for a few seconds for the window then go back to normal. In post you take a screenshot of the exposed correctly window and overlay it on the interview. Used that technique a few times, it's not perfect but a happy in-between.
@@Extremehick That works. However it’s not an option when I hand off footage.
Late thirty’s and still pushing forward. A little wear and tear here and there but you must never stop pushing. Keep up the great work bro.
You don’t look late 30’s!
@@davidmorefield lol thanks. Good ole island breeze.
Always love seeing how you setup and handle clients. The DJI Mic 2 have a new interface where it the receiver can connect directly to the hot shoe of the sony mulit shoe. Eliminating the need for a cable and interference. Its pretty the same as the sony wireless uhf hot shoe adapter (smad-p5). Also seeing the way Adam likes to shoot, I think he would like the mini Cinesaddle. I also dont like the idea of getting old Im the same age as you. I think the best solution is to keep exercising.
I saw the DJI mic. That’s cool that 3rd parties are making accessories that integrate with the Sony hot shoe.
Yeah, keep exercising is definitely the answer.
You found a great crew member there!
The power of UA-cam
Another great video👍👍
Thanks for peeping it
Great collaboration! Good to see the activity and growth. I’m 43, and I still feel like I got a few back flips left in me. My body says otherwise. 😂
I did a backflip on a full size trampoline recently. Definitely was scared haha
Come to Cleveland! 💪💯‼
I’ll put it on the list
I know you’re on a travel shoot, but obtaining a floppy or some kind of negative fill would really help on shaping that light a little more. Would you agree or disagree with the shots looking a little flat?
On the interview? I wouldn’t say so. We had a 5 in 1 that we could use for neg. It would be better if I could’ve shown a screen shot but I dont get my hands on the media.
Brother, I love jumping on things and over fences and I’m 35.
How high was that ledge you jumped onto?
It sounds like you all had a great convo about positioning yourselves or company.
I’ve decided to do the latter over the last two years.
Just measured, about 44”.
Yeah I love these types of in the weeds conversations where everyone is authentically expressing their concerns and aspirations.
So cool to see you working with Tommy. Just started following him because of your channel. You guys are very motivating! Also, 34??? I thought you were 28 tops! If you shaved, you’d probably look like a high schooler haha. Also, starting a vlog sounds terrifying! 😂
Ive always looked 10 years younger no matter what I do. You are 100% correct on the beard.
It’s only terrifying if you talk about things you don’t know about. Very easy when talking about the situations you are in.
@@davidmorefield I guess that means I need to start knowing more things in general haha
@@carlos.sierra Actually, no. If you describe the situation you are in, that’s all you need to know. Whether you are doing it right or wrong, sharing the facts is easy. Other people in the comments will happily point it out if it’s incorrect.
@@davidmorefield I guess that's where being humble is important haha
did you miss the fx6 for this job? I've got a similar fx3 rig, considering getting the 6 but probably gonna wait for the next sony cine line
Yeah. There’s a lot of small things that I prefer with the fx6. I do like the codec option on the 3 better, though.
Putting even more light behind a subject wasn’t helping you. But I would have bounced another light there once you got the soft box up.
Wish we had a few more fixtures to achieve the look I wanted. It worked out though
@@davidmorefield great look though, enjoy your content🤝🏼
No more Beast led panel?
Didn’t use any of my gear on this one 👌🏻
45 here bruh. Is it too late to be a UA-camr? Lol
Sounds like you have about 10 more years of knowledge and experience to share than I do.
@@davidmorefield In tech perhaps. I used to run Beta cameras though back in the 90s doing public cable access in Milwaukee. Lol
@@MindfulGrinds oh that’s cool!
I refuse to believe you're 34. You look 25.
Remove the facial hair and I’m a teenager
