- This gameplay tutorial for Mechwarrior Online shows you how to utilize your Mech to it's best extent. I'll give you a rundown of the build and what it is made for and show you the actual combat role in two games on the battlefield.
Mechwarrior Online is a competitive first person shooter where you build and pilot massive Mechs and prove yourself on the battlefield. The game is based on the Battletech franchise, which originally was a science fiction tabletop game in the 80s. Big part of the game is configuring your loadout and find the best match of missile, ballistic and energy weapons for your playstyle. The weapon variety ranges from devastating autocannons over particle projectors to deadly arrays of laser beams. On the battlefield your team of 12 Mechwarriors fight the enemies on rather small arena-type maps. Teamwork is crucial here because a single Mech does not survive long if it steps in front a full firing line. Communication and teamwork is key on your journey to glory and victory.

I am using Haven Kendrick's Soundpack! Download it here: / haven_kendrick . To install, simply locate your Mechwarrior Online installation folder, open "Game" and you will see lots of .pak files. Drop the sound mod file into that folder with the other .pak files, restart the client, and you are good to go!

You know someone is spoiled for Cbills when they fire a shot at the end of a match going up to only 36% heat, and then pop a cool-shot!
Hats off to Jason in the Cicada in the first match. Extremely well played against a dangerous mech! Thanks for showing it and doing a incredible job of getting eyes on players that mattered!
If only mechs could extend their arms forward. Would make some of these hip level hard pts really useful.
Well... I'd really like for the mechs to be able to punch and kick. That would really change the dynamic with the assault mechs.
A light mech that gets too close to a heavy or assault with arms is going to get squashed like a bug instead of underrunning the bigger mech's weapons and microlasering them to death.
And it would give players an incentive to use third person perspective--that would make melee combat easier to control, and they could add stuff for sidestep, back step, crouch behind cover, etc.
Make the mechs feel more organic, like in a 3rd person shooter instead of like driving a tank as tall as a building.
Right now the mechs don't actually feel like mechs at all; none of the mechwarrior games really did that. They're supposed to be agile etc with the neurohelmets, even the big and relatively slow ones and they just aren't. And the arms aren't arm like at all, they just let you traverse the weapons a little more up and down, they're just enhanced turrets. The models they have in this game are wasted, stiff as the actor in the C3P0 costume when I want them to move like K2S0.
I know this is just never happening with this game but I think it would make this a lot more fun. They wouldn't have to change the graphics, it would be about changing the control scheme, adding animations that make use of the lovely designs, and giving them damage numbers.

@@rrenkrieg7988 lol are you kidding me? Just give it controls similar to fortnite, with double taps for side step, step back and dash, and a couple of extra hot keys for weapon groups and melee attacks. Or the controls from nier automata.
It would be awesome for gameplay but it would look stupid in game, everybody driving metallic zombies.
The light 300 engine does seem to be the perfect engine for a lot of heavy and assaults loadouts.

man, I was just looking for builds for my long neglected Battlemasters, gonna try this with my Phoenix variant later.
Been rocking the 1G with two ERPPCs and two Snubs. A whole lot of fun peeking up ramps.
Those energy mounts are really nice.
9:20 Everyone wants to push and push and then... turn around and run the other way the second they start taking fire.
Nice, how about trying my fafnir build with 2x LBX 20's and 2XMRM 20's. It's great fun and I'd love to see what you could do with it.

5xlarge lasers and 3xHMG with that +50% rate of fire on it is nice
I'm quite happy with my 3xLL, 4xML, and 2xLMG (crit seekers) on my 1G. I have 1xLL and 2xML in each torso, the 3rd LL in the right arm and the 2LMGs in the left.
Here's the best Battlemaster build:
-Light 350
-1 Outside DHS
-AMS /w 1 ton ammo
-6 Medium Lasers
-1 Heavy PPC (arm)
-1 RAC 5 /w 2 tons ammo
-1 Rockets 15
Armor fills the rest 412/516 or so
You go 71.7 /w speed buff, and can deal upto 126.5 dps for an alpha

Could you comment on how you'd change this build once you can fire 4 at a time? Would this be an ideal mech for this? Or is there another you'd probably use when the patch is live?
I got the Johnny 5 achievement in a 6 LL Battlemaster as a trail mech.
Second match was one where your team will mistake the enemy's incompetence for their own competence.

The battlemaster needs wide load flag trucks running in front and behind it. If only you could tackle your enemies.
You can get the same amount of heatsinks with a standard 300 that way you can have all high mounts.

you should try a marauder ll 4a and do 5 large lasers a large pulse laser and two medium with a speed of 51.8 speed with the rest into heatsinks and two cool shots and a lot of cooling in skills and it do's great in shreding and for hand to hand combat and its good at shreeding the bigger mech like a king crab or atlas it damage out put 65 in all just don't fire all the large laser a the same time thou i found out that the hard way

Your Team out-tonned the Enemy by 55 Tons - Your Team Wins Baradul - 575 DMG
They did this exact build with Stalkers years ago....

Hey Baradul, the build is much to hot and unconfortable, pls try this: standart armor, endosteeel, single heatsinks, 325 xl engine, drop ams, fill up with single heatsinks, so you can fit all the lasers in the torso mounts, you heatmanagement will go+, your speed + , easy aim with all the shouldermount weapons and you can use youre arms for shielding because they are empty, 4 heatsinks in the legs give a bonus in water ect. only drawback xl engine but i saw crazyer builds from you. xD LG & hf

I'd place 3 lasers on the left side in case one side torso will be destroyed - to have at least half the firepower
you know it yourself - game is generally for right-side peaking because of counter-clockwise nascar. now if someone blast your RT (which is usually more likely, I think) - you'll have only 2 LLs left
He wanted an extra heat sink which given how hot the build is is pretty understandable.

So... one more Large Laser than the Grasshopper 5H build, but slower and with no jump jets and no energy heat quirk. Honestly, I think I'll stick to the hopper.
Baradul likes to play the tank for his team so they initiate and overwhelm the enemy instead of endless poking. Heavier mechs make it possible to do that once per match and (with a bit of luck) survive. That in turn makes for entertaining videos.

But people follow his lead BECAUSE he is Baradul. As a dude without a youtube channel, if I do the same thing, fewer people follow. =(
@@gbprime2353 I'm having trouble locking on to your complaint here. Is it that there's a better choice as you stated or because you suck that you are envious when he can pilot a sub-standard mech and produce results?
@@angoth Well there's no need to go on the offensive here. Its not a complaint, its an observation.
I'm of the mindset that using an assault mech for a role that can be accomplished as well with a lighter chassis is better served by actually fielding that lighter chassis, such as LRM spam or in this case boating large lasers. I love the variety and examples of gameplay that Baradul showcases for us, but for me this isn't one of those "oh I gotta try that" builds that he sometimes fields.
@@gbprime2353 oh don't worry, there are more than enough times where he pushes and no one follows. Most of them don't make it into a daily dose though.
