I don't think people want to put aluminum on their pen and scratch the hell out of their phone. You need electrically conductive foam for the tip, then wrap some wire around it to hold it in place running up the length of the pen to reach fingers.

And PAl if you got past year 6 you'll know it was the amount of friction to the phone to make it react, the pen can't be used as well as a finger or rubber when trying to make a device needing friction or a command to make it work. so they need something extra, harder then the pen to make it work. Which is why on electronic devices dedicated to drawing they give you a pen with a rubber instead of a tip.. Besides getting a rub out pen would be easier

It depends on the pen I never had problem with the heating to tip of the pen but some pens do fuck up and ruin the pen.
