By technicality the longest match in history is still going. Michael McGillicutty was never eliminated from what I believe was the 2015 rumble so that’s still going as McGillicutty vs Reigns (if it’s 2015)

Time-limit draws were the way they booked finishes without anyone taking a pin. Headlocks and armbars lasted a long time in those days. Nowadays its always just a run-in for a DQ, in order to protect most superstars from taking too many losses.
