Like most woodworkers I’ve used lots of rasps. They did a job but I never enjoyed it. The finish would be variable, the rasp would catch and jump and tear and I’d end up binning the rasp or just leaving it in a drawer. The best I ever found was the Shinto saw rasp which is very good but has its limitations by being flat and quite thick. Then I bought a Liogier cabinet rasp (No11, 200mm). What a game changer. Never going back.

Use a Liogier rasp one time and you will be hooked, the most useful tool in a woodworkers arsenal.

These Rasps are great but I am being forced to go with Ariou since their distribution in the US is much better giving me more choice to grow with their line of rasps. I'd prefer your product in the sapphire but I can only find the starter set online which limits me and then if I want to add to them I'd have to pay the VAT if I order direct from you.

I do really hope that you please will answer this question. Your rasps are in an amassing high quality made of a high quality of steel. So I do not understand why your rasps should dull if it is dragged in reverse over some wood, that is a lot softer, while maintaining sharpness if pushed forward?

Wood is ok to see saw with but as always rasp and files cuts it the forward direction so try not to press it on returning stroke hes not lifting the rasp because hes carving an he does to want to lose the feel of the angle and tilt

@@woozhi9218 Thanks a lot for replying! Yes exactly, by lifting the rasp do I think a person loses a lot of control, but many are saying that a rasp gets dull and you have to lift the rasp back to start, before rasping forward again.

@@friedmule5403 My hobby is filing metal to flatness square and size and not lifiting the file doesnt dull the file till now so its okay to not lift just make sure dint press hard when on return stroke

@@woozhi9218 Yes also my opinion, have never had a problem by not lifting a rasp. Therefore, do I ask why so many are saying a rasp will get destroyed? :-)
