Jaden. I just bought my Revo 3.3 and am having the exact same issues as your customer. This video was very informative. Excellent! I can’t wait to try these tips. Thanks!
How do you know what gear youre in as well cuz mine just screams and i never hear a shift i can inagine its stuck in first not second correct ne if im wrong... mine is slow as well def not full potential ive seen wheelies outta this and mine varely gets up curbs somestimes
So, I watched to learn about shift points just to see that the issue was the slipper clutch. Hmm, I guess I learned two things! I also heard you mention something about a runaway. Some time back, maybe a month ago, I was out driving and testing the carb settings. And as I held the Revo in my hands, the idle began to go FULL throttle sand IN gear, and just kept rising until either I shut it down, or it would probably explode. Is that a low receiver battery issue? As I’ve never seen it so that, in fact I’ve never seen any R/C do it. I came back up happy with the carb setting, but really confused! Any suggestions?
A receiver connection loss won’t always cause a throttle up. You can check your servos when engine is off to see how they react. Throttle up and turn off receiver WHILE ENGINE IS OFF. If you were tuning it may have gotten lean which will cause an idle up and over heat if ran lean for to long. Batteries usually last many hours. You can also check wires for and damage or loose connections. Also where battery tray for rust or corrosion causing a short. I lost connection yesterday luckily only going slow in the driveway. I quickly pulled the antenna up and it didn’t do it again.
Nice video were do you get a Manuel so I can build one up I need too strip it and put it back together but there some things need for it could you help is it a good car too
Is the transmission the same for a 4tec? I can’t find any info on it. I noticed 2 screws. One was really deep and locked/hard to turn and the other was all the way out and easy to turn. I’m guessing the one all the way out needs to be turned in till it starts to shift and continue till it’s where I like it. I haven’t messed with it much for all the years I’ve had it. Always ran my tmaxx being im in the country. Any info is appreciated.
not sure about the transmission being the same but the screw that is easy to turn is definitely the adjustment screw. I'd mess around with my tune first THEN start messing with the transmission. Jaden
I've ran a full bottle of 20 percent I tired the break in process it says then just ran it around my neighborhood I haven't messed with anything stockb
7:17 my Tmaxx 3.3 had that black soot start coming out of the engine around the flywheel. After 2 second tank so after break in and tuned it I replaced with Avid RC Ceramics bearings.
Hey just got my revo the battery in truck was bad when I got it and we replaced it. Now every once in while mine takes off full throttle what causes that is it bad throttle servo??
Reading some comments for run aways not sure for all but kill the remote power and should stop car in its tracks ... being u dont expect it usualy runs arounf or crashs lands til you do so, so stay safe and cant imagine loosing your expensive car off a clif or somewhere you cant get it back, happen to my done one time and crashed landed smh
Damn boy I no ur young but you seem so nervous you can barley talk lol slow done and relax u sound like a robot and as if your confused great explanation of setting the 2 speed thanks
Thanks homie! My brand new one was doing the same thing. Tightened the nut on the spir gear and fixed her right up.
No worries they run great once dialed in, you won’t be disappointed!
@@cyclicracer oh this is my like 10th one lol. Had em since I was little. This is my second revo had to go back. Love em.

I hope my Second gear hits . Thanks a lot . I will. Keep you posted. 👍👊
Hope it works man. Good luck!
@@cyclicracer it didn’t work. I took everything apart. And cleaned everything. White lithium grease on all the gears . I’ll keep you posted.

I’ve actually had to replace one of the metal pieces where battery sits it had broke and receiver was turning off and on.
So mine did that too with the losing response . It's because I put the servos in backwards on the reciever
After closing all the screw... how far back did you open?
What do u mean by 6.5 turns out mine doing same thing I can't fix it
Nice video were do you get a Manuel so I can build one up I need too strip it and put it back together but there some things need for it could you help is it a good car too

Better get back in touch with buddy and make this thang shift a lot sooner or his motor is gonna blow buddy. Good luck!!!
Nice video! Should put blue loctite on some of those new engine screws like the exhaust and block mount. Would be doing them a favor on a new car lol
For sure. I always check all critical screws and loctite them before running a new/unknown condition car.
Thank you
My mini servo for reverse is working, but something is not engaging in the transmission, I have no reverse. Any ideas?
you dont need reverse, delete it and you will save a ton of weight

What causes the black soot? I also have it.

either the battery, servo, or linkage is badly set up

I'm having same problem I think it never sounds like it shifts
You want that to shift sooner keeping it in the powerband. That delayed shift doesn't sound good and motor is reving to high before shifting my .02!
The guy i set it up for just wanted a late shift, he just told me to do so.
Damn boy I no ur young but you seem so nervous you can barley talk lol slow done and relax u sound like a robot and as if your confused great explanation of setting the 2 speed thanks
Yes this was a while ago when I was just starting out in rc. Hope the vid helps I have certainly learned a lot from this hobby
how many turns out from closed is factory? i got one out of the box not shifting either
I am pretty sure I said it in the video, just take a look there.
Should not move the phone as much
Please use a tripod next time.
I like what your saying but I’m dizzy as hell, hold the camera a little better, jeeez
