but does Adam have a landline?!?!
Gala! I discovered you a couple of weeks ago and have gone on a treasure hunt through the old episodes. So much stuff! It’s rejuvenated my interest in jazz piano where I always felt I was a dabbler (I’m a saxophonist). I’m now thinking about my year and realising I have had more wins than I thought. Thank you!
i hate shorts, BUT i found Open Studio because of your shorts and these are great because of the written music in them. Now i enjoy listening to your long videos.
I am grateful for the existence of Open Studio and this podcast. It’s been nothing but a blessing for me the past year. Peter Martin is slowly becoming one of my favorite jazz pianists and I would love to know where I can find Adam’s original compositions, everything he plays is like magic to my ears. Thanks for not only being inspiring musically, but also philosophically.
My biggest loss was 5kg and win was gaining them back and more. Thanks for open studio jazz, podcast, shorts, youtube videos, they have all contributed to my jazz journey last two years. Getting back into practice, attending jamsessions, bigband, gigs, other jazzcourses in france…all of that has probably been the real biggest gain. The biggest loss was probably loosing my job…….
Great episode as always!
This has inspired me to step back and think about my wins from 2023. Thanks guys!
And I’m sure as you both know that the large body of work that you created is basically only safe in your hands, meaning that you should have a copy of everything as no one knows what the future will bring. We always feel like UA-cam will be around forever, but that was also what we thought back in the Myspace days..
you upload and get paid, they own it. if you take a "copy" and use it somewhere else and get paid, you owe them.
Adam, talk more about your projects and composition for strings
Your YT shorts are great. You clearly present why we should watch, you give some related vocabulary, and examples of said topic. The rest is left up to the student as it should be. Very atomic, digestible, actionable info. I am a guitar player (or try to be :) ) and I watch the shorts whenever they land. Keep it up guys!
Amazing start.
Excellent episode, as always! And when is the next OS Experience?
Y’all are cool
Schroeders' Frat
I'm not very good with odd time signatures, is the opening music in 7/8?
It sure feels like a 7/8 but I feel it as a 4/4 ...they posted the sheet music at one time, can't remember when
It is!
They posted the sheet music in one of the podcasts. I forgot the episode so can't give a link, but I took a screenshot of it, or the start of it -- i.ibb.co/LCpBcGs/You-ll-Hear-It-Theme.jpg
You can see the 7/8 time signature.
I NEVER watch shorts! I am actively avoiding them!
