I was ten when the song was released, so I didn't live the impact that this USA and UK nº1 among other countries had in the world. I got to know Duran's music in 1984 in the summer when Arena was released. While watching this vid I was imagining that the song was being showed for the first time on a TV show and that at that time the power that it had must had been astonishing.

Catchy, innovative and creative...so 80s..I so wish I had been 20s at this time. I wasn't born when this was out. Was only a baby in the 80s/ a 90s kid really. I missed all the good life.
They look so amazing still , I know I still got a huge crush on nick lol . I really appreciate the past music more because it’s energetic and boppy and poppy and I just love the way it brings a message to me in a way for not only this song but every song in the 80s pretty much .

So what... TOTP was nearly always lip sync'ed - but the artists had talent, and their catchy, memorable songs were not 6 minute whining dirges a' la 2017..

they had a lot on this show lip synced. like nearly all of it because i think they just couldn't be bothered with the technical stuff screwing up on tv and it took time to set up everything.

@KhanadaRhodes Nah this performance is lip-synched. Shame.... half the time on TOTP, they lipsync and the other half, they sing live. This performance, the band just seems to lipsync to it. The poster didn't do anything. I can tell....
