It’s so funny to me that for a creator who’s whole character is “Scumbag Dad” he’s probably one of the most down to earth and moral people on the internet right now.
the problem is this video isnt going to get views because its not what the algorithm likes. so stupid that this is the video everyone needs to see, but wont reach nearly enough peiple
@@Bruh_Moment.. its wild how scumdad dad says "we" when talking about these douchebag influencers but its clear that everyone working with him on these videos are actively against that behavior. Such humility
Him saying we acknowledges that there's a chance he could be part of the problem (for the record and off the record I'm not saying that scumbag dad is a hypocrite as I'm sure he always asks store owners for permission.
Well to be fair, he's also an influencer, he knows that he has a similar platform to the people that are using it negatively and is acknowledging that he's trying to do the opposite of what they're doing with his platform.
People are more receptive to what is being said when they don’t feel singled out and attacked. Saying “we need to….” instead of “you need to…..” is non-violent communication.
People also don't understand that "in public" and "public place" mean different things. A business is not a public place, it's a private establishment. You can't just use it for your music video. Go do that in the town square or park- even then you might find that you're supposed to have a filming permit.
Creators filming people in private space without permission should absolutely be legally liable for invading other people's privacy. Especially pranks that are definitely not harmless and cause damages.
Are you dumb? Most of the time its in public places where it is completely legal to film. Now there's a difference from just filming a place and filming and be disruptive. There are laws in place for this exact thing your talking about; at least figure out if the thing you're gonna say is already been done.
Thank you for calling this out and being real on this behavior. It’s been out of hand and continues to get more wild and fr most people don’t want to be on camera or part of a random persons video especially if they don’t know they’re being filmed.
I think we can really appreciate someone like this, who's self aware enough to call out such reckless and crass behavior. Content creators are going to far and completely disregarding the privacy rights people are entitled to
Honestly it gives me so much faith in humanity to see a successful creator making videos like this saying this is *not* ok. We need more people like this willing to stand up against the more awful parts of the developing internet.
Same for people who film in an aisle and have the audacity to be mad when people continue to shop around them. Like this isn’t a studio! It’s a store! People aren’t going to drop everything to let you shoot in a public space
I worked retail for many years. I'm pretty sure I'd have a full on panic attack if I had to encounter something like this. Retail workers are already berated and harassed by regular people. They don't need a camera shoved in their faces too.
Really glad someone is talking about this. It’s good to show people how this can really affect people’s life’s, so they can learn a better perspective on it.
I love Scumbag dad for a variety of reasons but this has to be one of his most likeable and commendable qualities calling out the bad actors. I will be a forever subscriber for that. I have only the utmost respect for him.
Question: What's the age range of people watching your videos? More specifically, are you touching the demographic that clings to these toxic/destructive creators?
@austindenotter19 If 100s of us posted, it would be a little helpful. Scumbagdad has the outright metrics, though, so he'd be able to answer the question best.
It’s so bad that some content has devolved into pure harassment of retail workers. And the age old excuse of “it’s just a prank bro” gets thrown around after they’ve spent an hour disturbing people just trying to do minimum wage jobs and then they act like they’re the victim when they face consequences.

Technically a store is private property. And they can refuse services to anyone for any reason they choose because of that.
This goes to show how assuming everything online is fake can be just as dangerous as assuming everything online is real.
