- Rescue of sad, heartbroken dog found starving and sick. Watch this brave little dog’s amazing recovery and transformation. Anna was saved by Howl Of A Dog organization from a city pound in Romania. She was severely emaciated and required emergency care. The medical investigations and blood tests performed revealed a very long list of affections triggered by the lack of food. She was anemic and dehydrated, lost significant muscle mass and body fat and the level of proteins in her blood was very low. The little food she was eating was actually consumed by the internal parasites from her digestive tract, leaving her even weaker. Her already fragile body was all covered in fleas causing constant itching and scratching. She was also diagnosed with mange and ear infections and had scars on her ears, legs and an infected wound on the tail.
She was put on antibiotics and received intravenous glucose and amino acids and the medicated baths helped her get rid of parasites and mange.
Anna has made a beautiful recovery and now needs her own loving home.
She is a cheerful dog full of joy, very loving with everyone, enjoying every cuddle and attention she receives. She gets along great with all dogs, and with cats as well
Anna is a young dog estimated to be around 2-3 years old, medium sized, weighing now 17 kg (37 lbs). She is fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to go to her own loving home.

Those eyes! You feel the sadness, the absolute devastation when you look into those eyes and see how she has suffered. So emaciated, fragile and with her sunken forehead. Those pleading eyes. Her story really touched me. Nothing is more joyful than to see this puppy healthy, happy and running around everywhere . Happy life Anna.

God that city pound at the beginning is no place for a homeless animal. It looked more like a prison - gloomy, wet, cold, barred. Sick dogs should be treated completely different, even in pounds. She made an excellent recovery and so happy she has a forever home now. Must go and look at those pics.

The look in her eyes just broke my heart. I cant go 7 hours without eating and being miserable, that poor baby looked like they had not eaten in a couple days.😩 it looked likd she just gave up hope, but amazing people like howl of a dog wont let that happen.
