First off thank you for very great video, and while you did mention starting car and spraying wd-40 to remove the sensor the camera angle was too hard to show that part, aand that was by far the hardest part for me. I sprayed it twice and heated up twice bt turning engine on for 5 minutes(after reconnecting the hoses ofc) and ended up having to attach a piece of rope to the end of the ratchet to bust the O2 sensor loose kinda using the manifold as a lever while rocking car back and forth lol. Prob not the best way, but maybe could help someone with a really stuck sensor like mine...

Thanks for this. I have a 2010 Nissan Sentra 2.0 with the same style O2 sensor and my standard socket was also too thick so I picked up the PT tool from O'Reillys and it worked great. Just thin enough to fit into that shield that surrounds the sensor.

gracias por el video. It was weird to me that i couldn't find the right video to guide me. The O2 sensor on the 2010 to 2012 is different than 2007-2009. older ones required more work to get to it, as it sat right under the intake.

Thankful & grateful for this very insightful & helpful video, HOWEVER.........That squeeeeeeeeeeeky sound!!!!!!!!!! like a horror movie scene. made it challenging AF for me to watch this video. I keep coming back to try to get through this video bcuz it's one of the only ones that I could find with the content required to get the job done. if you could have an editor remove that sound & re-post this video it may do better in full length views and ratings, if that's what you are looking for, as well as extending help to the gen public of DIY mechanics. IDK how many others may have been driven away or insane with the assistance of that Skreeetching squeeeking sound. I've started with headphones, then without & now with no volume. Maybe it's just me ....a lil bit frustrated with the task at hand... the downstream o2 sensor was way more simple to change than this upstream sensor. This is not intended to be offensive I just hope that I could spare others that may have a unique tuning for that ...."sound", or at least ad some humor to the moment. -_- Blessings, all things in life make us stronger. plz pardon grammar. ....like that sound. =)

I couldn’t remove the heat shield, bolts were rusted shut. So I had to do the longer way... removing the intake manifold and had plenty of space to get it out without removing or cutting the heat shield.
HUGE thanks for suggesting the socket. Key component for the job!!!

Your old HF O2 socket walls are thick, I stop the video at 6:28, good picture. I just bought a HF O2 socket and the walls are thinner, it has the same pattern as the Duralast socket. I went to the wrecking yard and removed O2 sensors from a Nissan versa and sentry with no problem. The O2 sensors have the same shield.

I had my catalytic converter, intake boot replaced on my 2012 Nissan Sentra. When they did the diagnostic test they told me that the catalytic converter, intake boot, and the air fuel sensor have to be replaced. I did everything except for the air fuel sensor. Does this need to be replaced? After they repair the other two mechanical problems, the check engine light went off and has not come back on. I do not want it to cause any more problems so if I have to repair the air fuel sensor I will, I just don't know if I need you. Please give me some advice. Thank you for the video

For the most part of the light doesn’t come back on then the computer/car it’s telling you that everything is fine. So I would wait till the light comes on ... and if it does I would scan the computer and see what codes it gives you.
