You know, I'd love to see a community game where all eight players are people who have never played Age of Empires 2 in their life. I'd be on that list pretty much, since despite owning the game, I've only ever played the first few tutorial levels. However, I've watched a LOT of T90 videos, so I think I'd be able to handle myself okay, at least in the very beginning. But I have absolutely no clue what the requirements are for a lot of things, like how to advance to the next age. I know it requires the Town Center and I assume you have to have a few other buildings aside from the ones you start with, as well as certain resources and maybe some techs researched. But yeah, a community game with utter newbies. See how they fare. Would be interesting.

But they gradually have to coach less during the plays, like, first round they coach trhough all the game, then for the later rounds they have to stop coaching once the players hit certain age (and/or after some time elapsed, to prevent coaching abuse), and then in the final match, they have to go all by themselves. Of course, everything must be completely random throughout the whole thing, from civs to maps and even to game modes, so that everything has to be discovered on the fly.

Seeing they choose their colors to match is very nice (except red and blue, what they did is just outrageous). It would be nice if we could choose colors & positions sapareted in ranked games too, I love playing as cyan/teal (I mean, that's Gletcher's color after all) but since it is always the pocket in 4v4 (wich I prefer to play), it's always a contested color.
If there was a chat feature in the starting zone, the Briton and Frank players could have switched colors before the start, by negotiation. Maybe the devs can fix this?

In non ranked games, all the players can chat while waiting for everyone to hit the "I'm ready" button, and the host start the game, so they could surely have done that there. Actually, if they were not playing with hidden civs (wich can be done so no one knows which civ the others picked), anyone there could have pointed out that they had their colors changed.

Aftermath looks great, for a bit later. I'd ban Arena, Hideout, Black Forest, Fortress and Hill Forts. Unsure about Yucatan, but I think it's a bit closed. I liked Mongols, Japanese, Persians, Franks, Vikings, Goths, Huns, Turks, Celts and Saracens vs the AI until the 2008 stock market crash... things went pear shaped. Spanish and Aztecs good too. The new civs, Koreans now have 1 minimum range mangos and they're maybe a 'don't need a castle civ', like Persians if you skip Kamandaran. Tatars and Cumans appeal, also Magyars. Bulgarians look amazing. Teutons may be okay with the armor buffs and Poles (thinking of farms) and Lithuanians. Burmese for relics. I'm not really a foot archer guy, but Ethiopians look balanced and I'd go archers with them, plus siege and shotels. Oh, and I'd probably be orange.

A bit annoying that pink and orange could easily take down their red bully several times but they just sent their units to die alone in other bases instead, and randomly disturbed other 1v1s.

I think from the way he was talking, he has basically an open contract with Facebook, like he gets a salary as long as he keeps streaming. He mentioned this was good for his long term security, "even if I'm just streaming Age to 100 people years down the road." So it didn't sound like there was a point at which a contract would expire and he'd go back to Twitch. But never know.

I use it because it's my favorite tree, so maybe the one who developed this mod likes it too. But I guess that it's because those are the most "clicable" tree for small trees, since they have a nice round shape at the bottom and don't cover too much stuff at the top.

There's another mod where there are small generic trees instead of just pines, and that also has the shade. Most players that use this mod, use it because of the shade. But I agree with you that T90's videos would be better without the mods, at least for lel or commie games (since some of them forget to mark their mods after updates). But for mem forward, players usually use these mods, so you are probably watching things as the players are anyway.

I know it's not the same, but when i first learned about the small trees mod i was like 'it such a small change i guess it's no big deal' and it still seems pretty minor, but i think holes are a part of the game, even if they ruin videos sometimes. The easier you make it for the pros the less interesting the games.

i hate the pine tree mod. why what's the point.
I use it because it's my favorite tree, so maybe the one who developed this mod likes it too. But I guess that it's because those are the most "clicable" tree for small trees, since they have a nice round shape at the bottom and don't cover too much stuff at the top.
@@taylorgletscher they look out of place and it bothers me, there also seems to be a dark shady box around all the trees. If it makes it more clickable then it doesn't need to be on for streams. maybe he forgot or just also likes those trees. it might bother me less if the dark boxes weren't there.
@@brads8143 Actually, the shade is indeed part of the reason for this mod, you see, it is for helping the player to see if there are gaps between the wall and the woodline. There's another mod where there are small generic trees instead of just pines, and that also has the shade. Most players that use this mod, use it because of the shade. But I agree with you that T90's videos would be better without the mods, at least for lel or commie games (since some of them forget to mark their mods after updates). But for mem forward, players usually use these mods, so you are probably watching things as the players are anyway.
@@taylorgletscher I feel like holes are a part of the game. I'm going to download a mod that lets me see the enemies base easier. I know it's not the same, but when i first learned about the small trees mod i was like 'it such a small change i guess it's no big deal' and it still seems pretty minor, but i think holes are a part of the game, even if they ruin videos sometimes. The easier you make it for the pros the less interesting the games.
@@brads8143 Couldn't agree more. Maybe that's why I prefer to watch lel over pro games... there's that nostalgic fear of the unknown in the darkness, the struggle with walling right, of not knowing all the counters and all that there's to know about every civ...

yellow was so freakin brain dead with those pretards. first group could of easily hugged the side and got through the gate and killed tc with castle fire going. but no let's macro making stone walls around my tc back home, ignore scouting ahead with my paladins... frustrating watching him choke
