Rest in peace, Ryan Anthony. Forever you will be in our hearts, our minds and souls as one of the trumpet legends. The one who started Cancer Blows and whose played with almost all of the other greats and whose had all the other greats play with him. 1st trumpet at the Dallas symphony orchestra and was in Canadian Brass for 3 years. You've created many memories in the minds of us as listeners and admirers, he's undergone treatment for multiple myeloma for 8 years and didn't stop fighting through it at any time, lost hope wasn't an option and nothing was stopping him. Ryan Anthony, a true legend and friend to all, musician or not.

Great young man. Go enjoy your eternal rest safe in the arms of Jesus. We'll miss you terribly. Praying hard for Roy and Cathy, RB and his family, Ryan's wife and kids. Ryan is now showing Gabriel a trumpet trick or two!

I played with him once or twice. I was 21 and he was 16 I think. Church gig in San Diego. He was awesome. I tried not to suck too much

Great player, but not so much on this. I played it several times in concert in high school and college and of course I am a little humble worm compared to a great like this guy. But, I don’t like the sound of the trumpet and I would direct people to my two preferences in performance. Refill Mendez himself and doc Severinsen. You might put Allen Vizzutti in there too. many more fine performances like Arturo Sandoval, but only Mendez has the proper flair, Tone and clarity. After the repeat of the first theme there is a passage that should be played evenly faster and faster with double tonguing. Why great performers Muddy the waters with slurs is beyond me. And I guess I will say it again. This is a marvelous player at the tone of this particular instrument is ghastly
