Very saddened to hear the lost of Mr. Ryan Anthony, my condolences to his family and friends. May he still ring the bell of the trumpet with the angels above
R I P Ryan 😥😥 we really did hope and pray for you , you ll be remain always with us . thank you for inspiring and making us all strong and going through the difficult time of our life.
How is it even possible that this video has 41 dislikes??? It has been a long time since I've felt truly inspired by a piece of music. This is absolutely amazing; brilliant musicians and amazing cause. Thank you for sharing.
one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever listened to in my entire life. Maybe the most beautiful, I don't know. I've shown this to people and it brings people to tears. Thank you for doing this.
This is such an amazing performance, in every way. It is completely flawless. I was fortunate to be on the 2nd row, right in front of the podium. The best money I ever spent! Ryan was a true inspiration. What an amazing human being he was.
AS my late husband, a professor of music for nearly fifty years said, "There is no substitute for talent." This piece and the performers have it. So inspirational. Thank you.
I am embarrassed . As a fellow trumpet player I missed so much of this Man's magnificent playing. He is now , Immortal . RIP, Maestro, and love to your family.
This beautiful performance brings me to tears every time I see and hear it. In addition to losing Ryan in June of 2020, I lost another dear colleague, also seen in the video, later the same year. As Jordon Harris said below, how is it even possible that 56 sad people gave this a thumbs down? It's hard to comprehend! What beautiful playing by everyone!
tears always. what a great loss to our world. will be thinking of Ryan on Dec 14 when our band plays the Eupho version, as played at a colleague's funeral this year.
Rest in Eternal Peace Ryan, but may your Music echo throughout Eternity. Your messages of hope to me and my Family when my son Jon was diagnosed with Leukemia were very heartfelt and appreciated. I am sending prayers to your children and wife, that they may forever remember and feel your Love for them . . . Thank you for your courage and Music.
I'll never forget getting to play with all of these amazing Musicians at Severance Hall for the 2016 CancerBlows Concert with the CYWS. This concert is truly one to change your life in the best of ways. Dr. Ceipluch always told us that this concert was life changing and for me it truly was nothing short. For all of you out there, I will always recommend coming to see one of these amazing concerts and again thank you for the experience of a life time.
I've never heard of you Ryan until this piece. Honestly, I'm paralysed by emotion especially knowing you were called home. Rest in peace, Sir Ryan Anthony.
This is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard in my life and comes at a time right when my dad is going through his own cancer battle. Truly beautiful
Absolutely stunning! Both the music and the performance. I have just visited the song for hope site and hope to record my part for the movie in the coming days. All the best to you Ryan. We're all behind you in your battle.
This is a very beautiful and inspiring piece of music. You three are my idols when it comes to performing such amazing music using the trumpet. I am a senior performance major on trumpet and this piece hit home for me because I lost my father to cancer March 4th 2016. I have listen to this piece almost every night to help me. Thank you for performing this so beautifully.
So glad to see Dallas Symphony players again. I sang "behind them" in the Dallas Symphony Chorus and enjoyed hearing their talent at every rehearsal and performance. Thanks for this art!
this is one of the most heartfelt magnificent pieces of music i have ever heard. i work with people with cancer and its resonance is wordless - a bit hymn like. Many thanks to you all for touching so deeply
I will always remember this as the piece that "stopped me in my tracks" (Ryan Anthony) for the first time and I will never forget the feelings of emotion it brought. I will always remember Ryan Anthony and I know he will never be forgotten. RIP Ryan Anthony❤️
Wonderful soloists. Wonderful piece of moving music. Stewarton winds performed this recently at the Scottish concert band festival finals in Scotland on March 20th 2016. Thank you
I don't think I will ever get over missing Ryan Anthony and hating cancer for taking this great musical talent not will I ever not cry when I hear him play this song❤️
Great piece and beautifully played by the best trumpeters in the world! Thank you for this fantastic piece of music.Ryan, I heard you play in 2005 in Kelowna, BC with the Cdn. Brass, great playing!
What a talent Ryan Anthony was. With such feeling in his playing. He could have been worldstar on his instrument. He will be rembered as an outstanding musician and human being.
Very rare moment of plenitude and harmony. Brass playing is a warm microphone of body and soul. Mr Anthony you desserve to be recognized as a technical and human model for the generations of trumpeters to come. Respect for what you are and what you do. With kind regards from France,
The word that springs to my mind is elegant. The composition, the interpretation, and the performance, especially by the soloists, but also by the entire ensemble is just so organic, truthful, and elegant as to inspire hope for something better in the world. It almost literally lifts us up out of the Fox News, (or CNN - take your choice) who's zooming whom, quicksand of 21st Century information saturation and takes us to a better place.
This score makes me think about all that have touched my life with music from the heart and soul just wonderful this will be played when I leave thank you Pete and Ryan
I just revisited this video. It never fails to speak volumes about Ryan’s and so many others courage, and the power of music in that courageous struggle.
Saudades! Saudades! Saudades! É o sentimento que me envolve toda vez que ouço essa música ou assisto a vídeos do grande Ryan Anthony. Aquela nostalgia incompreensível, até porque só o conheço através dos vídeos. Imagino se o tivesse conhecido pessoalmente. A dor seria maior.
I think it's interesting that Ryan chose his cornet for the majority of his solo part, switching to piccolo trumpet only at the very end. Beautiful tones on both.
Crazy line up, David Bilger(Principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra), Phil Smith conducting, Michael Sachs(Principal Cleveland orchestra), and Ryan Anthony at then the Principal trumpet of the Dallas Symphony
So sad to hear about Ryan's death today, June 23, 2020. An incredible player, but more importantly, an incredible human being.
Gone too soon...
Anytime I hear this song it reminds me of Ryan 🎺 he will never be forgotten. Rest easy ❤️
A second comment by me: This is why angels so often are represented playing brass instruments.
This is the most awesome comment I've read on UA-cam for my whole life!
Very saddened to hear the lost of Mr. Ryan Anthony, my condolences to his family and friends. May he still ring the bell of the trumpet with the angels above
After yesterday, this song will never sound the same to me...
R I P Ryan 😥😥

I’ve watched this as a
trumpet player, about to move on to other endeavors. I cry every time. Such a beautiful performance.

I wonder who those 46 people are that lack the finesse to appreciate this masterpiece.???
Perhaps they were people who were never exposed to good music?
Rest in Peace Ryan. Thank you for all that you did.
AS my late husband, a professor of music for nearly fifty years said, "There is no substitute for talent." This piece and the performers have it. So inspirational. Thank you.
The world can end, the trumpetists have been selected.
Four great trumpet players standing together. All principal trumpets at one time.
Terrible news of Ryan’s passing. An inspirational player and man. Rest easy. 🎺
I love Michael Sachs tone....beautiful......beautiful piece of music.

This is the most beautiful piece of music I have ever heard in my life and comes at a time right when my dad is going through his own cancer battle. Truly beautiful
I smiled all the way through.
Me too! It’s going to force me to dust my trumpet up and start practicing.
Absolutely stunning! Both the music and the performance. I have just visited the song for hope site and hope to record my part for the movie in the coming days. All the best to you Ryan. We're all behind you in your battle.

A legend has been taken from us.

One of the most beautiful & haunting melodies I've heard in a long time.
Performed masterfully by this ensemble. Well Done.
So glad to see Dallas Symphony players again. I sang "behind them" in the Dallas Symphony Chorus and enjoyed hearing their talent at every rehearsal and performance. Thanks for this art!
I have this as a playlist, but when it gets to this song, I have to stop and appreciate it. Incredible piece of work !
this is one of the most heartfelt magnificent pieces of music i have ever heard. i work with people with cancer and its resonance is wordless - a bit hymn like. Many thanks to you all for touching so deeply
Gold standard.
This rendition will never be bettered.
A complete listing of everyone who played on this would be nice. What a magnificent recording!
i am dreaming to play this piece with my musical friends.
4:31 - Every time I watch this, the trombone player on the end bothers the hell out of me.
Lol. He’s like fuck this I’m done
Bless you, and your Beautiful Spirit, Ryan Anthony. . . . . .This piece is amazing. Tears, and uplifting.
RIP Ryan. Your Legacy will live on.
Ryan, this is gorgeous. You're such an inspiration!! Thanks for all you do

I will always remember this as the piece that "stopped me in my tracks" (Ryan Anthony) for the first time and I will never forget the feelings of emotion it brought. I will always remember Ryan Anthony and I know he will never be forgotten. RIP Ryan Anthony❤️
Just Super! How could anyone listen to this and not be moved? It sounds like music from heaven!
Wonderful soloists. Wonderful piece of moving music. Stewarton winds performed this recently at the Scottish concert band festival finals in Scotland on March 20th 2016. Thank you

What a magnificent performance, piece, and interpretation!!! THIS is brass playing.
Great piece of music. Exquisitely played with wonderful musicality and sound. Super stuff. Bravo.

What a talent Ryan Anthony was. With such feeling in his playing. He could have been worldstar on his instrument. He will be rembered as an outstanding musician and human being.
Brought me to tears. One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard
As a classically trained trumpet player, I am in awe of the talent on this stage! Wow! Gorgeous sound!
This is the most beautiful piece of music I think I have ever heard. Rest In Peace Ryan, you will be missed.
Very rare moment of plenitude and harmony. Brass playing is a warm microphone of body and soul. Mr Anthony you desserve to be recognized as a technical and human model for the generations of trumpeters to come.
Respect for what you are and what you do. With kind regards from France,
In Dutch, I call this 'bezielend', in English 'giving heart'. This music moves me, like, I learned.
Thank you Peter Meechan and performers.
Ryan deixou muitas saudades e uma interpretação que sempre vai aquecer nossos corações.

How beautiful this sounds are ! I was so impressed to be immersed in listening to
that.
Mr. Ryan , may his soul rest In Peace.
Brings tears to my eyes - I just discovered this music and person.
This score makes me think about all that have touched my life with music from the heart and soul just wonderful this will be played when I leave thank you Pete and Ryan
-We will be playing this in memory of Andrew Foister - 2017.
A great and moving piece played by the world's best brass players.
Como ele era tão conquistador, tanto com o som maravilhoso de seu trompete quanto com seu carisma. Saudades.
this needs to be played through a really good set of head phones or sound system, or seen in person!!
Oh my - what a wonderful musician with such feeling. Makes my heart want to cry. I listen to this piece frequently
This is a beautiful song and beautiful piece i really can't explain how music makes me feel
This selection is so well written and a joy to listen to some of the best trumpet and brass players in the world!
I just revisited this video. It never fails to speak volumes about Ryan’s and so many others courage, and the power of music in that courageous struggle.
Yes, Joey Moore (below) summed it up perfectly. Brilliant and moving.
Great trumpet playing and what a wonderful cause! I wish you a wonderful and full recovery Ryan!
OH MY!!!!! HOW BEAUTIFUL TO HEAR. THANK YOU
There is no substitute for truth
This music is truth
Saudades! Saudades! Saudades! É o sentimento que me envolve toda vez que ouço essa música ou assisto a vídeos do grande Ryan Anthony. Aquela nostalgia incompreensível, até porque só o conheço através dos vídeos. Imagino se o tivesse conhecido pessoalmente. A dor seria maior.
Amazing performance! We played this at band last night.
another beautiful, moving piece.
I think it's interesting that Ryan chose his cornet for the majority of his solo part, switching to piccolo trumpet only at the very end. Beautiful tones on both.
It's written as optional piccolo from rehearsal E to the end.
The cornet is a far sweeter sounding instrument and should be used far more.
I might be wrong ut I believe that Ryan is using a D-trumpet for the most part and then switched at the end to a piccolo trumpet.
Probably the best piece of music I have ever heard in my young life. Thank you Ryan for this.
Could probably never listen to this piece in public - wouldn't be able to dissolve into the puddle it makes me. Exquisite
The music always will be the way to practice the good things !!!
Simply beautiful. Thank you for your music!
Very very good Sound and Intonation and very good musicians👏👏👏👏
Incredibly beautiful- in composition and performance!
It reminds me a bit of American Elegy by Tichelli-also a very moving beautiful piece of music.
🎶So beautiful🎶
Best version, tuning....
Fantástico! Bravíssimo! 👏👏👏
Beautiful
Fantastico! Beautiful sound! Niente raggiunge il fondo del cuore come la voce di questi strumenti!
just beautiful
Hammer Sound!!! Mega!!!
This is a powerful and beautiful piece - inspiring - wish you all the best Ryan.
Excellent opus, for triumph over the coronavirus.
Rest in Peace, Mr. Anthony!
Super !
Crazy line up, David Bilger(Principal of the Philadelphia Orchestra), Phil Smith conducting, Michael Sachs(Principal Cleveland orchestra), and Ryan Anthony at then the Principal trumpet of the Dallas Symphony
Very beautiful !!
