    Curves are really useful in creating this effect. You can to a limited extent in FCP X and you can in Color because it supports curves.

    Cross processing is one amazing technique! I used to do that on photos in GIMP. :)

    The Lite Resolve version is a great place to start!

    If you're referring to DaVinci Resolve yes, it is free as the lite version :)

    Certainly I suggest any HDSLR or the upcoming Blackmagic Digital Cinema camera!

    I have a tutorial on it in my FCP X tutorial series. Just go to the tutorial on Popular Looks. It's not as feasible in FCP X but you can get by :)

    Thanks for the tips cool stuff for sure but I guess you would have to have some thing that is similar to this shot to make it work 100% and of course in raw? Why I ask is cause I tried this on one of my own amateur clips shot in prores with the bmpcc and it did not works so good lol. Anyway thanks for the tips I learned stuff for sure.

    I've already seen the whole process in FCPX on Vimeo adn it came good and straight forward to me. However I don't have Mac so I'll just buy some nvidia cuda gpu, install Resolve Lite and start to make something. Can I ask, is there any button in interface to make a new look version? I suppose you do it on Surface

    do you recommend shooting in the technicolor cinestyle. does it make it better for grading?

    I went in and spliced my track to make individual clips, now when i go in to color it, it is still applying one grade to each clip as opposed to seperatly. Is there an unlink button or option somewhere?

    Add a new version to the clip that is the "odd" one out. Opt/Alt-Shift-A
