- The Princess of Wales has revealed in an emotional video message that she is being treated for cancer.
In a video filmed by BBC Studios earlier this week, Kate opened up about her recent absence from public life.
Kate explained that tests after her abdominal surgery in January had discovered the presence of cancer. The Princess of Wales was put on a preventative course of chemotherapy in February, which coincided with Prince William pulling out of a memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece.
Following online rumours and speculation about her health and whereabouts, Kate made a plea for space and privacy for her family at this difficult time.

I agree. The initial statement stated she wouldn't be seen until after Easter, which has clearly still not passed yet, and I'm not sure what part of that the media and the public didn't understand.
My mother was the same age as Catherine when she was diagnosed with cancer, and I was George’s age. Please media, stop hounding Catherine and permit her and her family the same privacy you’d expect for yourself. The past few months have been endless speculation and gross intrusions. This is so sad to hear. I wish Princess Kate a speedy recovery. My mother in law had ovarian cancer 20 years ago and she was successfully treated with surgery and chemo and still here although 87 now. Praying Kate will beat this and live until a ripe old age. Actually, everyone could have guessed it for themselves when Kate withdraws for weeks after an operation, that her health isn't going well and that she's faced with a serious diagnosis, so I don't understand these rumors and the hunt 😢 One can only hope and pray that Kate wins the battle against cancer and can recover well enough away from the public, not for her role as a princess but solely as a mother for her children and for her husband ❤🙏

I called her Catherine when I met her in London in 2020 when I was invited to the Holocaust ceremony in London by the Holocaust charities for my project work on Anne Frank being published back then and I was only 17 years old at the time. Little did Catherine know that I would become Queen of Wales 3 years later and she’s probably pleased for me. I will always vividly remember Thursday 8th September 2022

She became known as Kate to friends and family very early on. By the time she was introduced to the public all those years ago as Prince William's girlfriend she was known as 'Kate' and not 'Catherine'.

Cancer doesn't care who you are where you live ,or if your mom or princess or both! You always remember the day they said ..we found cancer! For me there was no time to think or dwell on it I don't recall being scared ..just maybe numb! And gather all my kids on one phone call and in person and telling them! I in fact have a mammogram this coming Wednesday..if all is good ..then I'm cured ! If not we fight onward! It is hard journey but princess is very strong women and she fights on for her family! Prayers out to them all!!
Your comment made me think back to my period of illness, I also had cancer which recurred three more times..., incredibly I can't remember the first moment, the first time it was announced to me that it was cancer...., I realize it now. I remember the second and third dramatic announcement but not the first.... I think I was so shocked and confused that my mind couldn't register, the memories of the moment don't surface...
This type of illness puts you violently in front of yourself, during the years of illness I discovered parts of myself and of life in general that I didn't know, it was very hard but I am also grateful for the lights that came on inside me and that they still help me in life and guide me.
I wish the Princess that her treatment and healing process can be profound and light at the same time. It is possible to learn a lot.

I don't need anyone to tell me to pray for anyone else who has cancer. I have plenty of experience praying for people with cancer and right now I'm praying for the Princess of Wales and for King Charles.
