Eija, my wife, is from north Karelia and studied at Kansankorkeakoulu university and also worked in Lahti for two summers. later lived in Helsinki and also lived in many countries with Youth with a mission. Now a Canadian citizen! I ave to say that I enjoy all of your videos that share the Finnish outdoors and culture.
The squash are growing well but are being eaten by Colorado beetles at the moment, I am spraying them with a mix of dish soap vegetable oil and water, it seems to be helping. Cheers. :-}
Do they understand you? I mean, how is your scandahoovian from their perspective? As an Englishman living in Canada after 25 years there are many people here that do not understand a word I say. When the sun comes out, you live in a beautiful place. Magic mate :-)
I speak Finnish like a parrot... that is to say I make sounds and people if they are gracious interperate as being Finnish. I get by but my grammar is horrible. I really enjoyed going around looking at other folks gardens. That old lady with the Chinese hat looked like she was using mulch on her veggie garden cos rarely a weed could be seen.
Thanks for the tour Rob, we really enjoyed seeing the gardens, My wife has spent some time in Lahti. Howie.
Was she over as a tourist or studying?

DAT SNAIL
There has been a plague of snails this year. All the wet weather seems to encourage them.
