Make your own QR code Geo-swag or trackables for Geocaching

- Make your own nifty Geo-swag using random, inexpensive kitsch and goodies. Using a customized QR code (linking to your Geocaching Profile, your blog, or a trackable online database!!!), and some basic crafting skills, you can create custom swag to share with your Geocaching/Munzee friends. And it doesn't stop with Geocaching or Letterboxing, you could pull something like this off on blog cards, or hand out QR-coded swag at parties/networking events. Most smart phones include a QR Code reader, so you can reach a lot of people with a little QR code included on your hidden Geocaching treasures.

Thanks dude! I'm so trying to get back into Geocaching more, and want to participate in all the little aspects of the sport, but I just spent all my $ on a shiny new GPS, lol. I hope this suggestion really helps some people, even though it is a bit on the frugal side!

Question. Where did you get the qr codes for your trackables?
I bought a trackables on the geocaching website. I never found a trackables I wish more people got them and dropped them it's fun.. I have yet to drop mine I wanna find a cache that would only be found if you where looking for it so it has a better chance of actually traveling and not getting muggled. There's a store near my that sells geocaching items and they have trackables for $3 I'm gunna get a couple so other people can have fun and find actual trackables because it's fun to find real ones I just wish more people would put trackables out there:/
I think a lot of us see geocaching as an inexpensive sport and you can do it on any budget big or small, Of course a shiny new GPS would make it more interesting. :)

Hi Bradley! I'm guessing you'd like to attach the QR Code to your Geocaching Profile page, right? If so, go to your profile on the Geocaching website, & Copy the URL listed in your web browser (Go ahead and paste that into a notepad file for safe-keeping). From there, you can copy/paste the URL into a different browser to make sure it links correctly. Once you've verified that it works correctly, use a site like qrstuffDOTcom or VisualeadDOTcom to turn the URL into a QR code. Hope this helps!

I love the idea but it's against geocache rules to promote your own business. Idk about blogs but you saying use this to promote your business or w.e. is against the rules. Might get your cache taken down if people report it.

pro tip : watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies these days.

Hi.What do you use to put all your QR codes on one page to print out? I was trying to use Google Docs. What do you use and how? I think it's an awesome idea. I have my QR code, but need to put all on a page. I'm not very computer savvy and I'm a newbie with Geocaching. TIA! :)
A URL is the web address for the web page you are currently visiting. You can find the URL for the page you are visiting in the "address bar" of your web browser.... Unfortunately, youtube doesn't let me type an example of what a URL is, but you should be able to google "what is a web url" or "what is a web address (URL)"....
