Nice video. I agree with you. I purchased the green ultimate rustler for $530, and it is a nice version. The actual "bang per buck" is a deal in the long run. Mine came equipped with the body reinforcement and sway bars installed. The driveshafts are from the hoss. All i did was add the esc fan and motor fan. Also changed the wheelie bar to the hoss one. It's stiffer and doesn't flex into the body like the oem one. Also, side note the ultimate has the aluminum slipper cluch bearing adapter installed instead of the plastic one that melts
Exactly what I mean the reality is, you could still add onto an ultimate. But building one from the ground up cost me a lot of money. lol thanks for your comments, bro
@@giostealthr1 Just picked up an Ultimate, new to the hobby, and this is my first real truck, but I had been interested in RC for years, just never dove in.. Glad I went with the Ultimate for my first taste into the hobby as the overflow of information about everything that comes with enjoying RC Cars, IE, repair, maintenance, knowing your cars limits, and getting the skill to drive the thing properly has been kinda overwhelming, so being able to have an already super capable platform already makes the information overload a bit easier to deal with. I also did exactly what this guy said lol, fans on both motor/esc, swapped out the spur gear for a metal one, hoss wheelie bar, light bar, and a set of Jetko Rockforms to save the gravix wheels from the S3 lipo's on the pavement/concrete, dun have much grass to rip around in, and in the Netherlands, most grass is saturated in water making it super dense for the truck to rip around in.
I agree , it’s almost never worth building an upgraded model , just buy the upgraded version. That being said, I already had a rustler VXL and like how the ultimate model looks. My esc was glitchy so I swapped in a spectrum 85 amp esc and motor , ordered green ultimate body, green wheel nuts, motor plate, chassis brace, driveshaft, shocks from RCawd and a set of duratrax hatchet M/T. Very happy with the look and performance . I didn’t go as far as you did, but I did what I wanted , nothing more, nothing less . Great video 👍
I suppose I can’t go wrong with either one. I’m getting my son the Maxx and decided to get an RC for myself as well. It’s been a long time since I’ve been into RC. Pretty excited 😃
Hey buddy, yes awesome video. I built one too. Just got finished with it. The problem that I’m having is how do I get the rear to not tow in so much there is no tow adjustment for the rear. All I did was put a pair of foams on there 17 mm foams and the tow is crazy Way too much toe any help thanks

There are 2 height screws on the rear hub carriers. Try switching that up and then set you tow settings
