Alpharad having a mental break realizing he's genuinely good at something instead of comically better-than-most is pretty on-brand.
Now beat the whole game, I dare you
Funny thing is I did the same Tera normal with the same strat and same mon in the same gym in my first play through 😂
what
i mean it's pokemon lol how hard can it be
He doesn’t realized that this game be can easy breeze through the game if he just used a choice item during the nuzlocke ands that why he lost the nuzlocke
My god, it’s no longer about sending a message, it’s about winning
😢
Your comment reminds me of that Charlie Sheen interview.
Truly tragic
so sad
not the youtuber i once knew, smh
Getting all the way to the champ deathless only to lose due to his own hubris and then win by switching his brain off is the most Alpharad ending I can possible imagine
Just another day in the office for The Nuzlocke King
Love how the champion who everyione made fun of ended up not only being the touphest battle but also being his downfall, although his downfall did turn him back to his old self so thx Geeta i guess 😅
@@Ditto.007 Love to see it
scripted
*"Oh... A critical hit.. You poor thing."* Is THE best thing Geeta could have said
she dropped rock salt in that wound
The idea of the enemy showing pity to taunt you, is horrific.
Dark Pit: “Can’t help but feel sorry for ya.”
Geeta: “Oh… a critical hit… poor thing.”
What I expected: A silly Nuzlocke adventure from the funny internet man
What I got: A deaded trail down the depths of Alpharad's psyche as he questions his own identity.
It wouldn’t be the first time
I saw deaded trail and was kinda confused because it didnt make sense. Realized seconds later that you probably meant dreaded trail.
Jesus I can already imagine Jan's comments... "wow that was a good choice" "well played" "good move" makes me shiver
Lets be honest to yourself, Jan will find a misplay and he will point it out xD
What if jan makes a recreation of the pokemon fire red reaction but just specifically for the champion battle
Terrifying...
Jan:Finally,he fell into our cause
Bro sounds like hes commenting on a chess game
"yunikhorn toughed it out so you wouldnt feel sad" only to die to poison is genuinely the most heartbreaking thing ive seen in a childrens video game
Damn, a deathless run ending to Geeta, the champion everyone clowns on, that's just salt on a wound
I like to think that even Geeta's surprised she won and has no idea what to do now.
In today's episode of Alpharad, we witness our hero go through the five stages of grief by watching their credibility as a nuzlocke funnyman die, while turning into a safe meta player.
who would have know that the conditions for alpharad to evolve into jan was for him to learn the move strategy, truly a magnificent discovery
@@inserttaken_name1762 I didn't teach my Alpharad Strategy and I have another three gyms before I unlock the Move Reminder, should I box him or keep him on the team?
@@N_IRL if your 3 gyms of the move reminder he should be more or less arround the level where he learns cancelled wich is basically explode but better could use him as a in case of emergency cancel alpharad button for the meantime
@@inserttaken_name1762 Gotcha, thanks for the advice! I'm more or less sweeping with my Jaiden Animations anyway so it's not that important, but I still want to play it safe
Watching Jacob have an identity crisis midway through this wasn't an experience I expected to have today
isn't that the Alpharad experience?oo
What a journey, he forgot who he was and after suffering a heartbreaking loss, found the light of his true nature once again. It's simply beautiful.
Bro had a whole character arc
@@WolfZBB unfortunately it went backwards instead
13:48-13:49, "It might not be so bad on top...." The way you said that was SO GODDAMN VILLAINOUS, Alpharad. Gave me chills, bro.
What's the song here?
Cynthia’s theme maybe?
@@anabominationagainstman3597 it’s Volo’s theme from where you fight him and Giratina at the end of Legends: Arceus
How beautifully poetic that when Jacob finally stops taking unnecessary risks, what dooms an otherwise immaculate run was his refusal to take a (safe) risk.
I feel like it isn't an alpharad video without any trauma
This time he’s traumatized by himself.
Realistically, no one should care that Alpharad swept by spamming a single move. That kind of thing just goes to show, it’s a kids game with a boss fight kids can beat.
(Not that anyone did complain)
@@jsphn2008 the people don't care, they just want content 💀

Jan, Jacob, and Jaiden becoming friends through nuzlocking is beautiful. We have a goofy but lovable protag, a friendly and talented female friend, and a critical, intelligent male friend/rival. Triple J Pokémon animated series when???
Honestly the fact that you reached that far without losing anything, and then losing TO THAT battle, which is considered by far the worst champion is intriguing !
Yeah I was gonna say.😂
I never thought I would live to see Glimmora sweep, but here we are.
funny thing is while Geeta's team isn't all that I found nemona's to be even easier if Alph had made it pass geeta he could have just used his hariyama to sweep half of nemona's team then used gyradose to end her dragon and his pyro to end her grass starter for a deathless sweep
Just because she has a team of bad pokemon, doesn’t mean one pokemon can't end it all.
The worst champion in Pokemon? Not really. She's bad but not the worst. Red/Fire Red Lance is a cakewalk if you use the most common types in the game and give them Ice Beam. Gen 2 Lance doesn't fare much better. All of Diantha's mons have really bad IV's mostly in the single digits, without anything that can cause a problem for you; she's easier than the rest of the Elite Four. I'd say she's probably the third worst champion in the game, although she feels a lot easier just because Torch Song exists.
Nemona: uses an attack boosting move twice
Also Nemona: uses a special attacking move
the AI in a nutshell
remember she's going easy on you all part of her plan
Nemona's game plan is to give you a heart attack so she wins by default
She also boosted accuracy.
And used a move that never misses.
honestly sucks how easy the
AI loses
I'm always amazed by Alpha's choice of music. He truly is an absolute gamer
You know the song
whats the song at 5:40 called?
@@erlouwer the fragrance of dark colored coffee from phoenix wright trials and tribulations

The foreshadowing of the mental break at 3:08 , then the monologues at 10:34 and 13:02 are INSANE!! Fucking- every video is a mini-movie at this point! Phenomenal. (and you can't forget the visceral "WHO AM I!?!" at 12:01 )
That cloyster is so wholesome. He wanted his dad to be proud of him. IM NOT CRYING YOU ARE.
Toughed out the impact, only to collapse from poison.
And like most kids that try to win their parents approval, he ended up failing 😭
I WON'T LET YOU DOWN DAD - Cloyster.
Then poison dmg.
@@CidZero sad 😭
Yo what? He really IS streaming right now! Let's go Pokemon Infinite Fusion!!!
OMG HES LIVE RIGHHT NOW!?!?!?!?
Wow! We should all go watch him right now!
he do be streamin' :0
TRUE LMAO
yo! check him live!
The absolute irony that clicking the funny button (aka Skeledirge torch song) instead of the meticulous planning he went through in the first run, was somehow more successful is so funny. It's undoubtably an Alpharad moment of all time. And watching Floragato set up two Hone Claws just to use a special move that never misses was both hilarious and INCREDIBLY anticlimactic. Both of these moments are art pieces that belong in the Louvre. I LOVE the progression and growth in these Nuzlockes, you can tell how much better Alpha has gotten with them. I am a little sad it's just the gym leaders in this round, I feel like the Team Star boss fights are some of the hardest challenges in this game staying level capped for them.
Larry is love, Larry is life. Even though I too was cheering for Comrade Larry, I also knew you'd pull through his masterplan. That aside, I don't know how he writes his scripts so well, but this was amazing. Love the use of the third movement of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. I actually performed that song on piano for Dennis Rodman and Vladimir Putin and it was so awesome to hear it here! Exquisite taste, Jacob!
11:06 Jacob has finally lived long enough to become the villain.... Whenever Jan gets out of purgatory and reacts to this, OOOOOOO BOY
The floragato using hone claws twice to then hit you with magical leaf, which is not only a special attack but also ignores accuracy for a guaranteed hit is truly peak AI decision making
I'd sat that's more bad game design by giving the Floragato Magical Leaf rather than a physical grass move, like Seed Bomb.
@@Celestia282 It does have seed bomb, It learns it at level 20.
@@kiradoolan1362 But it doesn't in that fight
That soul link with Jan was more literal than any of us knew, he's no longer playing lame, just winning the game
ahahahaha yes!
For anyone wondering, this was recorded before the soullink.
For those who are wondering, the classical music remixes at the end were from Catherine Full Body.
WE LOVE OUR KRAFT SINGLE-SLAPPED PEPPER! Fuecoco is a whole vibe...there's no thoughts behind those eyes. Alpharad is the only person who can give you hype, excitement, sadness and a whole existential crisis through a Pokémon game. Using Chopin's Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor aka the Revolutionary Étude to express your emotions during your internal struggle of this thrilling run is chef's kiss and so fitting. The piece is about Chopin being upset that a Polish uprising in the 1830s against the Russian Empire failed, meaning he couldn't return to Poland. He cried and said, "All this has caused me much pain. Who could have foreseen it?" So it's a very emotional piece and the perfect way to show said emotions. Music really is a powerful thing.
This is exactly what Alpharad does that makes every single nuzlocke special and entertaining. He not only learns from his past, but also makes something that can be so boring, and makes it fun. His realization of what he now became, is just as entertaining as his first nuzlocke. Something that is supposed to bring emotions slowly deprived Alpha from all of his emotions. This is a villain plot, and I love it.
"Every time I fought against Larry, it's been a roller coaster of emotion because my Twitch chat always cheers for him" can sum up gen 9 right there XD
That final battle was a certified classic Jacob "Icarus" Alpharad moment
The amount of times he went “deathless run” made me immediately understand there was going to be a tragic ending.
after learning that jacob throws for content/story and builds his video scripts around those stories, these videos always feel more appreciable knowing how much thought he put into them
My dude is so godlike at writing scripts, I could feel the foreshadowing burrowing into my soul
I could feel the foreshadowing coming inside me
Jacob having a personal crisis about being "safe" is hilariously in character
Came for funni Nuzlocke, stayed for the mental breakdown
Moonlight sonata coming in at the end is insane
Fr fr
This is truly the nuzlocke of all time
The true nuz was the locke we made along the way.
I enjoyed the part where he said "it's nuzlocking time" and proceeded to nuzlocke all over the place. Truly the moment of all time
Such wise words.
Of course it is, this is the Nuzlocke King we're talking about here.
The use of Chopins national piece Etude No. 10 "Revolutionary" to show your inner turmoil during this run really elevated the emotional value of this nuzlocke stomp
No. 12*
If you told me that plot armor in Pokémon didn't exist, I would believe you. That Cloyster was too much for my heart to handle.
Alpharad's gone from doing these ironically and having fun to genuinely wanting to win, character development.
I love how Alpharad always seems to have a crisis over his entire personality and character during Nuzlockes
At 10:34 I REALLY love the descent into a mental breakdown here. 😂😂😂 Jacob realizes he's playing more like Jan than ever before.
I'm imagining Jacob wakes up outta bed the morning after this whole realization and walks into his bathroom. He looks in the mirror and sees his own face, but now he's wearing Jan's clothing, he has Jan's hair, hat, glasses, etc.
Jacob runs back into his bedroom, horrified, and he looks around and finds books on his shelf that are titled "How to Speak German: For Dummies."
Then he wakes up from the nightmare, and Jan is in bed beside him, shaking his arm, asking, "What's wrong, hon?" before he wakes up from the actual nightmare and realizes it was all just a dream.
@Kain Yusanagi When he wakes up from the dream, he finds himself in the back of a horse-drawn carriage with his hands bound by rope, and another blonde-haired man goes, "Hey, you. You're finally awake."
@@5starjellyfish " got caught in that imperial ambush, right trying to cross the border?"
Plot Twist: Jan is secretly Jacob from the future who went back in time to try to prevent his past self and any other Pokétuber from becoming like him by constantly pointing out every mistake they make to discourage them from playing, not knowing that he was becoming the very thing that caused his new form. “What did I say Brandon what did I say!”
Alpha having a meltdown over his newfound caution hit me way harder than it should've.
I love how Jacob somehow puts himself in the most absurd situations on accident just for the content
It’s really fun watching Jacob slowly become an insane poketuber
I love the slow insanity of these nuzlocks it’s truly beautiful.
Cloyster went through a full anime power up scene just to get shot...
That cloyster made me feel more emotion than any Marvel movie lately
A bowl of cereal made me feel more emotion than any marvel movie lately, that's not saying much. Marvel has been on a downhill streak lately.
I have a sneaking suspicion he intentionally killed it off for the content, seeing as how he went for Shell Smash instead of the very obvious "click a damaging move". Alpharad's thrown and/or lied for the sake of a narrative before, after all.
(which isn't necessarily a bad thing, mind, just an observation)
Pokémon Violet was such a fun time to nuzlocke, especially when only using new Pokémon and going in blind. It was easily the most chaotic thing I’ve done in a while. It’s great to see other people attempting nuzlocke sun SV as well
At 2:42 I was not expecting to hear legend of the skull heart start playing wow and alpharad of all people using a Skullgirls bgm that’s crazy
Thank God I found your comment. It was driving me crazy trying to remember where I heard that theme before.😅
And just like that, against all odds, Alpha found a way to make fighting Geeta actually impactful.
"it's better to lose recklessly than to win smart."
amen to that.
It’s better *content*. Most important part of the quote
And this is why I can never be a content creator.
Because I prefer to win recklessly.
As sun szu once said,
“She doesn’t call you bad because you’re pathetic”
Ah yes, I remember Technoblade talking about that once before. He knew that book like the back of his hand.
Holy shit this got some likes
At the end that moonlight sonata 3rd movement remix distracted me so much that i didn’t even pay attention what was happening
11:59 - a wise man once said "Always, always, ALWAYS play around the critical hit."
Can we talk about how this video has insanely good music choices? Godot's theme? Insane
Fogbeast too ❤❤❤
So much classical too. Chopin's Revolutionary Etude and Moonlight Sonata Mvt 3 were also in there.
Some Persona music in there as well
I caught Crypt of the Necrodancer's second phase final boss theme there too.
What's the remix of Moonlight Sonata Mvt 3? I really wanna hear it.
I will never get tired of saying this.
Jacob is one of the best content creators when it comes to creating a flawless narrative for any story.
2:11 wow i can't believe that you came up with a strategy to sweep the gym that even Jan struggled with, you have really come a long way.
I always love the choices of music used in these videos constantly. As someone who LOVES JRPGs like octopath and xenoblade, it's super fun to put a name to all the songs I recognize that are artfully used in each video!
Oh my god he is live right now

Wolfey losing 5 pokemon to espathra on his first attempt is still my favourite moment in Scarlet Violet playthroughs.

So fun fact, if your Cloyster has skill link and rock blast, you can sweep Iris, aka the second hardest Champion of all time, with JUST your Cloyster. It's that good.
Hydreigon's Dragon Pulse should only bring you into red and then you can easily set up shell smash after which you can outspeed Hydreigon and hit with double power.
Hydreigon will die to icicle spear.
Lapras will die to rock blast.
Archeops will die to icicle spear/rock blast.
Druddigon will die to icicle spear.
Aggron will die to liquidation because it doesn't has sturdy.
Haxorus, her ace, will die to icicle spear because it is a multi-hit move.
Of course, this might not work immediately in rematches since now Hydreigon has like Draco Meteor which will definitely one-shot Cloyster, but you can always give it a Haban Berry/Focus Sash to make the plan work.
And the fact that the same Cloyster, which can sweep the second hardest Champion, can't safely set on any other Pokémon on Geeta's team except Veluza or Gogoat (even then, Avalugg is waiting to use that body press against your -1 def Cloyster), definitely amuses me. Just goes to show how weird teams can be niche in their own at times.
I am LIVING for the use of Catherine music in this video
no way that he is streaming right now!!!
Jacob has fantastic range as an actor! I mean, the dude keeps playing so many different types of villains
Great musical choices really fitting for the tone of the video. Awesome story telling. Thanks for another banger video

Seeing Alpharad slowing decending to madness after Gym 6 was pure comedy
Using Moonlight Sonata’s Third Movement for the last portion was accurate for how chaotic it was, along with being an emotional rollercoaster.
That emotional rollercoaster with cloister was easily the best entertainment i got this year lol.
