Upgrading Audi B6/B7 A4 Speakers

- Today I am swapping out my front speakers on my 2008 Audi A4 for some aftermarket Alpine units. It's not difficult but takes a bit of time to get everything off.
If this video helped you please consider subscribing! Thanks.
Please note: Perform this at your own risk! This method is destructive to the original speakers and does not allow you to easily go back to stock if you so wish. This is the best way I found to mount the new speakers utilizing the existing stock mounts.
What's the model # on those alpines?
What size is those speakers the new ones
I still have the original in my A4 2001 19 years still kicking ass, I did add a a subwoofer and amplifier though. Nice video thanks for shearing.
I added sound deadening to the insides of my doors before the new speakers arrived, it vastly improved sound quality of the factory speakers. Would recommend if you're still rocking them.
@@kunschner I think I will do that it shouldn’t be that expensive I don’t think
Size?
I am happy with my stock Bose system 😀
Sunt de folos multumesc celor carel-au creat
Thanks dude. If I were to cut a hole in the back of the housing, would I be able to fit a slightly deeper speaker in? OR perhaps create an extension that pulls it forward closer to cabin so the back fits? Thanks
after installing this the tweeter work? or you need to buy the component ones?
I added component tweeters that came with these speakers at the same time. I think you can just leave your factory tweeters though if you like.
@@Andrewiffic ok than so much
After you install the speaker the Tweeter are working?
Do you need new wires for aftermarket speakers?
Nope you can connect to the stock wires.
Did you upgrade the tweeters aswell? Did you upgrade anything else then just the speaker? Is the upgrade worth the money? I dont have the bose system and want a better sound
Yes I did the tweeters at the same time, but nothing else. I got the speakers and tweeters for around $100, but I haven't noticed a huge difference so it's not necessarily worth the money. An upgraded head unit would probably help a lot.
Andrewiffic okey thank you for your answer. I like the OEM style and I all have Bluetooth installed to my original head unit. So perhaps run a amp on The original speakers instead?
I'm not sure if that will help or not, I'm not well versed in amps. Maybe.
is the stock amplifier powerfull enough for better speakers? i mean in factory they calculate amps and shit to work perfectly.
Probably not. The stock speakers are probably being fed around 15w RMS from the car's head unit and rear amp. I'd imagine those Alpines probably perform best in excess of 50w RMS. I think I'll be upgrading my amp before the actual speakers in my A4.
Did you replace the tweeters as well? How would the crossover work. Would you even run it or replace the speakers and leave it alone. I have a b6 a4 2005 Bose.... also what is impedance on door speakers... thanks.
Yes I replaced the tweeters as well since they came with the Alpine speaker set I bought. They come with built in crossovers. Not sure what impedance they are though. Also I had a non-bose system.
Get 4 ohm 6.5" speakers, but they have to be pretty shallow to fit in the basket, not all 6.5" speakers will work.
What size are those alpines?
6.5"
So 6.5 fits easily? Great :) I will get myself some Focal PS165
@@marsrubenbro know its old what better bose or focals
@@BallOut357 Focal, installed them 2 years ago, no issues, works amazing! And an insane quality sound! Got the PS165V2
the new speaker how many watts?
Thanks, what size should the new speakers be to seat in the basket once you cut it? Stock or slightly smaller?
nate8930 stock size fits, 6.5". You just have to make sure the new speakers aren't any deeper than the stock ones as there is no extra room.
Andrew which speakers are these exactly and how much better were they?
All four speakers are the same size? 6.5"?
Not sure, only did the fronts.
Yes they are all 6.5
Is that same for a cabriolet
what the size of the speakers?
6.5". I bought Alpine SPS-610C 6.5" component 2-way speakers.
Bose system?
@@dvbarone This is a non-Bose system. Although I think the Bose system speakers are the same size.
I ' ve heard about the electrical fragility of the latest alpine speakers (expecially the cheap ones).
I've also heard people complaining about their bass and I' ve noticed that some of them also have a low sensivity.
Why should somebody buy them?
They sound good to me.
