  • In today’s economic climate, where inflation touches nearly every aspect of our lives, finding luxury that doesn’t break the bank is more challenging than ever. Yet, the cigar industry continues to stand out by offering exceptional value and innovation. In this video, we dive into how premium cigars, specifically the new Hoyo Rojo and Hoyo Oscuro from Hoyo De Monterrey, remain surprisingly affordable.
Priced under the cost of your average fast food burger, these cigars are proof that you don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy high-quality craftsmanship and rich flavors. We’ll explore how despite rising costs and economic pressures, cigar makers like Hoyo De Monterrey return to the drawing board, committed to delivering spectacular smoking experiences that are accessible to all age-qualified adults.
Join me as we discuss the resilience of the cigar industry, the passion behind cigar making, and what makes these new blends an inflation-proof pleasure for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Whether you're a seasoned aficionado or new to the world of cigars, this video will show you that the luxury of a good smoke is still within reach.

For me....and this is just my opinion...I like about $5-$8 for a weeknight cigar. $10-$12 for a Friday night/weekend cigar, and $15+ for a special occasion. Depending on the occasion it may differ. Personally, I love Perdomo! If you've never had one, I highly recommend giving one a try!

I agree. However I find the $25 is the perfect for a special occasion. If it costs more than that online I find diminishing returns. Some of my fave cigars are only $8.00 full price and perform near the $25.00 range. So I like finding those sleepers around $8-10 that overpreform

I enjoy cigars in EVERY price range. I’ve done well and have a vast collection. I gotta tell you, EVERY price range excites me. There’s good and bad cigars at every price like anything else. Cars, restaurants, clothes, everything. Even in income segments. Poor people can be great friends or complete jerks, same with rich people. Just keep buying and keep exploring, acknowledge price but don’t get hung up on it. Just make sure you identify why the cigar was made and when you should smoke it. I’ve found that having expensive cigars on hand makes my less expensive ones taste better. No one wants to feel like they’re smoking cheap stuff cause they have to. Buy some high priced sticks to get rid of the mystery.

As someone that kinda still new to cigars (and lives in Australia), you really can't tell a good quality cigar based on price here. The biggest factor of cigar price is tax, and because that tax is based on grams of tobacco and tax is extremely high, you really can't bet on an expensive cigar being any good at all. The price difference between good quality cigars and a cheap cigar here is insignificant is comparison to the crazy amount of tax on them. It sucks! When you might call a $5 cigar in America a cheap cigar, that's probably gonna be around $30 Aus.😢

For me, I seem to like a more affordable cigar between the 6-14 dollar range. Must be why I like Perdomo so much. Perdomo’s entire line, falls right in that exact range. And even at the low end of his range of cigars, quality is definitely not skimped on. All his cigars burn fantastic, with excellent flavors, and nice expected burn times for each vitola. If I want a special occasion cigar, I’ll reach for a Padrón 1926 Serie, or a 45 year, or for my birthday I try to seek out the 80 year, since that was Jóse Orlando Padrón’s 80th birthday cigar. But that’s just my 2 cents. Everyone likes what they like. That’s what’s amazing about cigars. There’s literally something for everyone.

A step up from that, say, a Friday night stick, is the Curivari Buenaventura BV560, around $6. I also enjoy the very occasional $10 stick from Don Pepin Garcia, My Father, or Crowned Heads. Personally, for a budget smoke I like the Punch Classico or Punch Knucklebuster, both especially in Maduro. I just got a 5 pack of Knucklebuster Maduros in the Robusto vitola for $17, so less than $4 per stick. For an all long filler 3 country blend. To me that's pretty tough to beat. I try to only smoke on weekends or special occasions so my typical weekend stick will be a Macanudo Inspirado ( so far I love the whole line apart from the Red), which you can find in 5 packs for $7 to $7.50, or sometimes a Fuente 858 Maduro, which can usually be had at a brick and mortar store for around $7.50.
So far if I want to spend over $10 for something special that'd be a La Flor Dominicana for me or a JC Newman Diamond Crown. Those are 2 cigars over $10 that I think can actually justify their price tag. Or if you really want to splurge, the Davidoff Signiture ($16 and that was for a petite corona) was the most expensive cigar I've tried that I'd buy again... though you can see I kind of tend towards older Dominican brands over Nicaraguan, so my taste may not work for everyone.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, if I could only afford say $2 per stick, I like Quorum cigars.
Hon mentions for under $10 go to La Aroma De Cuba (Don't sleep on them they're blended by the Garcia Family and made in the My Father factory for under $10), and the Perla Del Mar line (I think they ran me about $6 each at a brick and mortar all 3 wrappers were good imo).

Two of my favorites, the Undercrown 10 and the Plasencia Alma Fuerte, are over $15 each, but those cigars that I will spend the money on... just maybe not a box or anything like that.
