What about improving agility? Another BS nonsense myth. It comes down to people not understanding the Law of Specificity, Motor Learning, and Skill Transfer. You will often see NFL players, NBA, players, and MMA athletes doing agility drills. These are a waste of time. Why? Because they are practicing a specific skill. Doing drills on a agility ladder or any other stupid drill is not going to improve your performance on the field or in your sport. Why? Because it is a completely different environment, completely different skill, and doing agility drills or ladder drills are only going to improve your agility in those specific drills and they will not transfer to the field. If you want to improve your agility you simply have to improve the skill of the particular activity you want to improve. The better you get at that activity, the more efficient you’ll be able to do it and the faster you will be able to do it, which is pretty much improving your ‘agility.’
