I'm going to buy Hisense U5120GW tomorrow.
I'll probably put a soundbar ABOVE the TV so that the upper speakers work better with the ceiling.

Please don't do that, the soundbar works mainly as Central speaker and front right and left speakers.
If You place the sound bar over the TV You Will loose clear voice dialogue audio and the front left/right stereo audio
The upfire speakers on the sound bar is just to create like a bubble or spherical audio experience, it works for Atmos experience, the upfire speakers share only specific sounds that reach the ceiling to bounce the sound and create the Atmos effect.
If You mover tour sound bar above the TV You will brake how the sound system was designed for and You will not hear the correcta surround + Atmos experience.
Dolby atmos does not come from rear speakers my dude it comes from the upfiring speakers prjecting the sound over your head from the ceiling, so if you want true dolby ATMOS you should get a home theater with speakers on the main towers firing up or mounted on the ceiling firing down towards your couch. rear speakers are for true surround sound
I like it that Hisense also provides a very good Atmos soundbar at an affordable price. I wanted to buy the Samsung 5.1.2 QA800b, but this one is just as good for almost half the price.
I doubt it I have the q800b. they had this next to a q600c and it didn't even sound ass good a low end q series soundbar

Not entirely sure. But Hisense is launching a new AX5100 version that includes a soundbar and two rear speakers in one package soon. Maybe that would be a better option to look at?

Sadly not. You need to go for the rear speaker soundbar. It is a pity because this soundbar is much better and could do well with some rear speakers.
Can i add anything additional for more sound ? Like extra sub woofer or speaker with this ? I already bought this today .
Not that I know of. I will contact my Hisense PR guy and find out if there are any addition speakers for this unit. I don't think so but worth a try.

A 5.1.2 Atmos soundbar doesn't really need rear speakers as Atmos provides immersion and the sound is all over the room. Yes the sound is front heavy because it's a soundbar. But you won't need rear speakers especially with a 5.1.2 as the side firing speakers takes care of that, rather than a 3 1.2 which doesn't.
Yes you can add 2 more rear speakers, but the reviews say that they come in and out and crackle when outputting sound. I came to this review hoping they'd have the rear speakers as well.

How does this sound on a large open space living room? I have soundbars that sound great in small rooms with close walls..but sounds terrible in our large open concept living room.
This might not sound as good in a large room tbh. It relies on walls and low ceilings to bounce the Dolby Atmos sound around. Unless your ceiling is low enough and you sit close enough to this, it might get lost in the large open space.
Finally purchased it..big mistake. Sounds "chirpy" like there's an extra sound at the end of every spoken word. The base and treble settings do nothing. Tried it in a smaller room thinking it would sound better..nope! Wife thinks it sounds tinny and cheap. Aesthetically it looks really nice with a solid build. Shame..I wanted to like it.

Depends on your region. You might need to contact Hisense support directly to arrange the files.

Is the mode LED on all the time or does it time out and turn off after a mode has been selected? Or is there an option to turn it off?
You can turn it off completely. There’s a “dimmer” button if I can recall. Either on the remote or in the settings.
I bought this sound bar but there is no audio coming out I'm so frustrated

got 312 no bass , weak sound
Only gets good bass if you turn up bass and virtual x to on to do this press and hold centre d pad button it does bring up a menu turn on virtual x to get lots of bass

Did you use the surround mode ?
I did test it. Stuck with it most of the time. The only mode I didn't enjoy was the AI mode.
@@GLITCHEDZA I’m having problems with it now the volume level is too low even when I raised the volume on it - it use to be louder I replace it and it’s still the same issue - do you know why this could be ?
@@boutte88 Could be the input you're using. Have you tried different inputs to see if it is a widespread issue? Maybe plug a USB in and play music off it. Try the TV connection and then do BlueTooth. If the volume is low across all inputs then you'll need to get hold of Hisense for support. If it is just one input, the media is likely the issue.

I think it’s an EU product only sadly. Some EMEA regions have it too.
