Great footage and excellent commentary. Looking into riding up to Alaska, but nervous about the ride. Your video is the most realistic I’ve seen, thanks!
Thanks very much. That was the idea 😃 I’m no expert and wanted to share what it was like for me. Saying that, it was a great experience though. Before I come back to North America to do the Dempster next year, I’ll be doing a lot more off-road practice to build my skills and experience. Thanks for watching (and commenting). I’ve got another video due to go up on riding the Denali Highway too.
Thanks for the feedback ☺️That’s what I wanted to show, just wish I’d got more footage but was hard enough to ride at the time. Trying to show what it like for your average biker. I can see why there are statistics every year on that road.
I’m sure this is an awesome trip for you. I road both the Dalton (up to the Arctic Circle) and the Dempster (all the way to Tuk)this past summer 2023. As for difficulty, the Dalton would qualify as the Dempster’s baby sister. So much pavement on the Dalton and zero pavement on the Dempster. Both were fun. There were 2 of us, both riding R1200GSA bikes. Congrats on all your Arctic Circle conquests.
Thanks for the comment and glad to hear you had a good trip on both roads. I’m planning a trip to the Dempster in 2025 so good to know how you found it. I think everyone’s experience is different. Solo vs group riding, different bikes, different weather, different riding abilities. My plan is only to show my experience and have the humility to know I’m no Dakar rally winner 😂 just your average rider. Peace out and safe riding in 2024
@@TheArcticRider The Dempster was really fun but the Inuvik to Tuk portion was a loose gravel and washboard beat down. Worse than anything on the lower Dempster or Dalton for sure. Super glad we did it but NEVER need to do that again. Up & down the Dempster is 1100 miles of mostly loose and ever changing gravel. It was super dusty & smokey (forrest fires). Of course they soak the road with water at each of the many road construction sites.
Thanks for watching. I went end of May into early June. Late enough for it to thaw out a bit not so late the whole road was under construction. Best of luck with the ride, the road, and the weather. I had planned to make it all the way to Prudhoe too but I lucked out. Hope you make it and it’s a blast. Ride safe.

Epic journey Gordon, especially as a solo rider. Well done.
Thanks 😀
Loved the raw footage of this, I can't imagine how nerve racking it must have been 😨.... You are truly inspiring 💪💪👍👍👍

Well done for making it to Artic Circle No.3! Amazing.
Thanks very much. Harder than expected in a few ways but a great experience! Next video to upload is competitions 4 and 5 😎

Good One..
I'm curious as to which month you made the ride? I'm going to be doing this as well but all the way up to Prudhoe bay. I've read that June is best.
