@@Irelandrbi I typically hold it in my hand if it’s only a few PSI to full. However, if the tire pressure is low and will need several minutes to fill, I’ll set the unit on the ground. It’s just personal preference.
One thing I've noticed on other X8 reviews is that the non-striped version tends to over inflate by 1 psi, yet I see on the striped one it stops on the exact psi level set. Do you believe the striped one is more accurate than the previous model, or is the overcompensation for air loss during the separation of hose and tire more worth it?
That is a level of detail that I haven’t personally paid attention to. I do check the PSI shown in the Tesla display after inflation and it always matches the X8’s display at shutoff.
Oh nice. I currently use a Ryobi portable compressor. This is more portable than what I have. And I sometimes forget to bring it when we go on trips. Is the cable long enough if the nozzle is on the top position of the tire where I can set the compressor on the floor? Does it vibrate too much that I have to lie it flat on the ground? This might be a good secondary compressor for me.
Yes, the cable is long enough to reach the valve stem if it’s at the top of the tire. The unit vibrates, but you can leave it to run upright without needing to hold it. Once you finish, you can immediately plug it into one of the USB C ports to charge.

The one complaint I have is that you have to spin the hose around and around while attaching it to the unit.
Tip: jack the car up on the tire that your airing up. Much easier on the equipment and faster.

It could be the the unit is compensating for the air loss when removing the hose from the valve stem.
