It's incredible how much foreshadowing is in here, with Aelwyn being kept in prison in Fallinel, Riz's fear of his asexuality and how other people perceive him, and Fabian's fear of becoming Gilear. All of which are things that come back later in the story and are deconstructed with deadly seriousness.
Goldenhoard got done dirty in the finale. He should have done an Essek and became actually became good thanks to the good and bad influences of the bad kids. If anyone should have been the big bad of season 1, it should have been Arguefort. He is a master time wizard who is a total psychopath, kills his closet friends and allies for crazy reasons, and knew everything that was going on but did nothing. It would have been an excellent theme of what the bad kids would have become if they focused on selfishness and being powerful without caring about anyone or having important loved ones. Basically, what I’m saying is Ferris Brueller as a god like archmage would be the main villain of season 1.
@@chrisstoltz3648 Reckless use of power and willingness to backstab people and friends he knew for years for personal opportunity? Yeah, pretty sure that makes him sus as hell.
the hangman being so invested in fabian's relationships is hilarious. yes i am an unthinkably ancient hellhound trapped on this mortal plane in a motorcycle, and yes i am going to break your friend's sister out of jail so you can make out with her

focusing all your romantic energy on an unattainable potential partner of the opposite gender? someone who is conventionally attractive and confirms your ideas about what kind of relationship you should be in? focusing on kissing when your friends are literally talking about their kinky sex lives? could be part of a heterosexual coming of age experience. could also, speaking from experience, be INCREDIBLY QUEER what feelings for someone more nearby than a prison in another country might you be suppressing, young Fabian? god I know the "I can't even think about other crushes, I'm just too obsessed with this person far away who I had one moment of chemistry with one time, oh well" mindset all too well. "it's not even worth thinking about if I might not be straight because look at how focused on this straight crush I am, it wouldn't matter anyway" is this me projecting? I mean, yeah. do I think it's out of the question that Fabian realizes some (more) things about himself whenever we get junior year? absolutely not.
@@theundyingunknown8824 fabian confronting and deconstructing his own internalized (toxic) masculinity is a big part of his character arc, particularly in season 2. additionally, a lot of fans read fabian as being queer, and his obsession with aelwyn as being an extension of his very strong and deeply engrained ideas about what it means to be a man. it's debatable at the end of season 2 what their actual feelings for each other are, but anyway because of that a lot of fans read his obsession with aelwyn as being a manifestation of compulsory heterosexuality due to internalized (toxic) masculinity.
Lou writing "AELWYN" in the "Flaws" section of his character sheet makes me laugh every time
I love how Brennan starts writing the moment Riz starts talking about Baron.
Didn't catch that the first two times, thanks!
I think in that moment he's just taking more food hahaha
"Fabian, you have evidence of something and you didn't tell me." *Riz looks really hurt* has got me totally cracking up. XD
“And somehow I’m the sweet one with a heart of gold” uh excuse me Kristen, Gorgug is literally sitting right there

The Hangman, an ancient mythical motorcycle, being the ultimate wingman for a 17 year old and his first love is my favourite part
Hangman got that dog in him.
@@P0rk_Sinigangliterally, he's a hellhound lmao
Hangman supports his master in their of sex, violence and glory unquestioningly. Whatever the stakes are for that master he is 110% in on enabling it.
