Meta Skills in Next Generation Higher National Qualifications

All new SQA Next Generation Higher national qualifications include opportunities for students to develop meta-skills. Like graduate attributes, these support the development of other abilities and competencies and encourage an adaptive mindset for success in any context.
The inclusion of meta-skills is designed to complement the industry and sector-specific content of NextGen HN courses and provide a framework for learners to undertake development aligned to professional practices and behaviours as well as personal aims.
This session, recorded on 26 January 2023, provided an overview of the approach being taken to include meta-skills in qualification design, and an opportunity to discuss how it might support articulation to degree courses.
