Di I've used 2nd method but it doesn't worked for me. But it soften and brighten my skin a little bit.

1. Moisturize your skin well before you put on foundation. 2. Add 1-2 drops of vitamin E oil in your foundation and then apply this on your face, evenly with two fingertips and then blend it out with a soft clean beauty blender. This way the foundation stays smooth and don't become ashy after few hours. It gets into your skin even better throughout the day due to the vitamin oil you add. I had this problem too, now not anymore since I am doing the above steps.
