Me as well. I live on the Saint Lawrence little farther up from the Great Lakes over by Alex bay Alexandria but nonetheless it would be a great boat to cruise to Lakes
I agree with showing more affordable yachts. The bang for your buck is very surprising. I'm sure even with an update, could still be a cheap bargain. I love watching Huge Mega Gigi yachts to these affordable types. Some of the older vessels can look amazing. Especially for the price. Very good idea for older walkthroughs. Even like the Older mega money ones. Showing you can go big if you go older. :-)
I'm between opinions. It's the same on the old Top Gear, people asking for reviews on normal affordable cars. Look, you can pop into a Ford dealership and poke around and test drive a Fiesta yourself, just don't force me to look at it. You, however, will never get to drive a Zonda or Koenigsegg, so it's much more interesting and accessible only via the show. Kinda same here, go to a local dealer and press some buttons and open some doors. You won't be able to step on a 95ft Princess or anything in that caliber, so it's good that Nick is covering it for us. However, the Top Gear show where they had the green new Fiesta that Jezza drove on the beach with the marines, was very entertaining as was this episode of Aquaholic with an affordable boat. Like I said, between opinions.
My friend I know you love what you do. I've been thinking of buying a boat very soon and in the recent days with this virus going to the boat companies cant happen. Your knowledge and descriptions of theses vessels is amazingly helpful. You have saved me a lot of frustration. Thank you what you do.
We started this week to have many people bring their yachts out of winter storage to come threw our downtown area out to the lake front marines here. It was nice to see on the news channel back on Tuesday.
An English classic. Very well maintained and a good layout. As im going for my day skippers id better start saving the pennies for a boat. Looks good for her age. Great video Nick.
@@visionist7 Hi Felice, yes. Got powerboat level 2, lifesaving inc defibrillator. After day skipper theory and practical i be going for yachtmaster ocean. Father was a master mariner.
It’s actually a really nice addition to the channel, I am personally a fan of older things especially cars. So much more character and while technology is great and I am a big fan, I’m a bigger fan of simplicity and quality over glam and style over substance. What a classy boat and interesting to see where Princess has come from. Really like these older boats, come from a generation where quality counted over profit. Excellent video Nick. Loved seeing Torquay too
Now that really is a good price. Love all the woodwork. Needs a little tidy up and a few up-to-date gadgets for old codgers like me who can't even read a map, wayhey for Sat Nav! Lovely boat thanks Nick.
Very nice nice boat for the money. I'm a bit of a sucker for the high gloss wood look. Was walking around Torquay marina at the beginning of the week some lovely bits of kit on show down there. Thanks for the tour.
I love the high-gloss cherry-wood interior. High-gloss cherry-wood is what you are often greeted with when you enter a private jet (usually in in the galley area and bulkheads) . Seems like a good deal for 135K
It makes a statement. It's less livable for weeks at a time (but only psychologically as keeping the gloss free of fingerprints shouldn't be too hard) but it's great for pretending you spent way, way more than you did.
Not sure I would have chosen the colours the did for the refit but each to their own. From the brief look we got the engines were in excellent condition for their age. That speaks to the boat having had owners who cared about its upkeep. To me that good maintenance is far more important in a secondhand boat than a few odd colour choices.
Nick, you did it again and like many of your followers so well said it,a boat that is closer to many ordinary peoples budget, almost including myself... :) :) :) Wish you all a good weekend. Cheers.
Have to say I also really like it notwithstanding the age. Looks well maintained and i think the craftsmanship was better back then. Great video as usual
Brilliant boat for the money", will be down that way soon from Brighton and viewing all boats in and around Brixham/ Torquay etc, as its a Princess like this or a Fairline 38/40 being my next boat, cannot wait". Brilliant videos Nick keep up the good work!.
thanks Nick - really nice boat with a lot more life left in it I'd say ... Please keep up the variety of walk through, one gives inspiration and "wow" moments, the other (like this one) are great "food for thought" and research for average Aussie surfers like me... cheers
Really good video. Hopefully one of the viewers might be interested and go buy it. Good for Tom and the team at One Marine to get you to do such videos as a very good ad. for what is a nice boat. A really interesting video and we might all fantasise about these multimillion pound yachts but far out of our reach. This secondhand Princess 43 is a possibility and a reality. Personally would be within reach, not ready to buy just yet but starting to think about it, and your videos invoke a lot of interest in getting out on the water, although I do from time to time with my friend on his Dolphin sailboat. Thanks Nick great video
Wow... that is a LOT of boat for the money! Yes she looks a little dated in places but things can be replaced/uplifted for not much additional cost. Very, very nice... great find Nick 👍🏻
I would absolutely love to see more boats in this price range or lower. I can really see myself buying something like this a couple of decades down the road: something old enough to be affordable, but not so old that you risk catastrophic breakdowns (nervous or otherwise) every time you start the engines, but just about old enough to be affordable. Size and layout is very nice as well.
Not bad for 135,000. Is alot of boat. Salon is very roomy. I can see spending a week on cruising on it. Bit dated, but very funcional. Great tour. Thankyou
This is where the used boat market is going - both motor and sail. People who could afford these boats 20+ years ago are not around anymore. More price drops with sailboats as they take a lot more labor.
Beautiful boat. Great find and share for us. Loved it. The pricing is awesome especially for diesel and being a Princes. I'm sure it has at least two air conditioning units with a boat of this caliber. Curious about capacities. Next time maybe. Thank you for sharing again. Loved it. Cheers, Jay
This boat looks perfect for Nick, even even has some blue trim. It's an older boat however if you compare the age there's nearly no reflection from use, either that or it was of such quality it's near impervious to wear and tear. The very clean engine bay is another example of that. There is another possibility of course, if the yacht sat in slip without much use. Myself, I prefer this galley arrangement and sport fly. If the boat has engines with low hours / recent maintenance I can't imagine it lasting long on the market.
hey Nick, just going back into the archives and looking at some older videos. Man i like this one. I just glanced at the subs and its already at 449000. I cant believe it. I wonder what it was at the time of this video. Happy Easter from Michigan my friend. Gods Blessings to you and Marianne.
I would buy this one in a heartbeat. It looks amazing and well maintained. And to me, not dated at all. I even like all the navy blue accents. Fits a nautical theme. And all that for such a good price!
Incredible amount of boat for 135k. Not aged that much considering she was built in 1998. Still a bit out of my price range unless I sell the house!! Hmmm ;-) Great tour as always and thanks again.
Surprised at the condition for its age wonder what the engine hours usage are on it certainly well cared for, it maybe old but it's still got the looks
I look at a lot of your videos Nick but keep coming back to this as a starter boat. I think I would turn one of the heads into just a good sized toilet and the other into just a big shower room, you know, "room for 2 or 3" 😉😉. Excellent value for money and I love a flybridge.
Lovely Princess (: I saw an owner on Instagram who had to get their left engine lifted out of the boat, and they had to completely tear up the interior in order to get them out... probably cost as much as another boat to get all of that done, I can’t imagine.
On this one there are hatches under the saloon carpet. Lift those and you should be able to crane an engine out through the saloon doors if it were ever needed (very unusual to need to).
Very nice boat Nick, it is comfortable and affordable for a family that wants a sort of vacation cabin without noisy neighbors and static views. That is an extremely good question! I remember seeing the first Princess 388 (forerunner of this boat) in 1990 and being blown away by it. I wondered how they would ever better it but they did, again and again.
Yeah, but the princess 43 is a meter longer than the princess 430. One meter gives a lot more options to play with. Taken the smaller size of the princess 430 (compared to the 43), into account, the 430 is still a sexy yacht.
I know this is an older video but it reminded me to ask, the next time you have the opportunity to start the engines, can you start the generator?
