A Pragmatic Sampling Framework for Benchmarking Soil Health at Scale

Soil health measurements provide a snapshot of how well a soil is performing multiple agronomic and environmental functions under a specific management system. The Soil Health Institute (SHI) is working to establish regional benchmarks for its recommended suite of soil health measurements, so that farmers, ranchers, and other land managers can set goals that are achievable for their specific soils and region. This video gives an overview of SHI’s approach to setting farm-relevant soil health benchmarks at regional to national scales.
