I actually did not realize that Rouse has passed away until I was chatting with a friend of mine (who was a student of Rouse) a couple days ago. His orchestral works have not only influenced me but also a whole generation of American composers, and I believe this influence will go on for decades to come. RIP Prof. Rouse🙏
