A friend sent me someone's Instagram profile, Ruben. He’s 24 years old, extremely fit, has single-digit body fat per cent year-round, lives the perfect lifestyle to look like this, oh and he is literally a model.
But then he got the news that he had lymphoma cancer... so my friend told me that Ruben wants to get back to where he was and he wants to document his entire journey back to fit to share his story and maybe inspire others.
So today we’re meeting him for the first time, but not in the most obvious place you would expect

Bro still looked better than most of the average people after all those chemo sessions, very inspirational, I wish him only the best
Chemo is meant to kill ppl and kill everything in there body and that’s a known fact that’s wht it’s thousands of dollars

I cried when he was clean... I hope i can say the same some day... At the beginning of february this year i got diagnosed with colon cancer and 2 weeks later they told me there are also spots on my liver and in my lungs... As a 48 year old healthy living human being, this hits hard! All what has been shown and said by Ruben, i can feel and relate to. Because the tumor is pressing into my colon, going to the toilet became near impossible, si i now also have a stoma which sucks, but there is no way but keep going. I went to the gym again yesterday after more than 2 weeks and everything felt so heavy... But i won't give up!!!
Good luck Ruben and thanx for sharing your story, it helps alot.
All the best, man on your journey of healing. May the force be with you. Loads of love to you. Hope you come out "clean" too pretty soon and completely 👍😊✨🌻

Video hits home for me. My boyfriend was just like you, mid 20s, doing workouts, keeping healthy... then almost 2 years ago he started feeling weaker, they couldnt figure out why. 10months ago he was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease/ALS, and now all of his muscles are barely functional. Theres an extraordinarily minimal chance of improvement, but he still cares about other people and how they feel, still trying to smile and give love, even though he can barely stand for a few seconds. Showing him this video and both hoping you stay recovering and in remission. Never give up!
As someone familiar with this in their family and a fear of it myself. Nothing but love to you and your boyfriend. My hope is we will have a cure soon. We will cure ALS.
I encountered the disease in a Japanese series. I've definitely heard about it before, but most people pass by things that don't concern them.
Unfortunately, it's a pretty nasty disease. The person gradually loses the things they could do with ease before. The everyday trifles that we don't even pay attention to. Only if we are no longer capable of them.
So we relatively healthy people should be happy that we are well and be grateful for the things that surround us. But patients should not give up hope either! Any day now, a new drug could come out that could make a big difference. I just often have the feeling that companies and big people sit on them. And they will only let people know when they can gain a lot from it financially. I wish the best!
I had Cancer too and it started when I was 3 years old I got blood Cancer and stayed in the hospital for 1 year and then 6 years later when I was 9 my Cancer relapsed and our only option was to travel to Toronto for the treatment that I needed because now I had blood Cancer and bone Cancer when it was over a few weeks later I had complications with the recovery stage with what’s known as GVHD also known as Graft-versus-host disease, and we got put in the hospital again and I couldn’t move because all of my muscles had weakened but now that I’m 10 I’ve had a great recovery and I’m back to doing some of my normal life activities 😊❤ so if you are struggling with something you will always get through it 😊❤

He is still stronger After chemo therapy than many other people
Stronger than me , no cap. Dude is relentless.
One of the strongest guys I’ve ever seen… Massive respect to his family and girlfriend
Even after 4 chemo sessions he still looks amazing, and the fact that he was going to the gym regularly during his sessions is insane. No doubt he will smash his goals and come back stronger than ever. Mad respect 🔥💪❤️
this video got me crying, my grandma died due to cancer and seeing someone beat cancer is so inspiring.
Good Job Ruben 😊 Hope the next part of your journey goes as you intend it.
Much Love
Browney is literally one of my most favorite UA-camrs. He is so inspiring no cap!
I'm not crying, you're crying! So excited for Reuben and his journey back to strength and loving his body again.
I am sad thinking how many people ,kids ,close one get cancer everyday its sad😢
@@Oobservatory_X its bcoz people dont die from other diseases anymore, many have been treated so cancer having a bigger effect is a downside of that i guess
@@yazi6947 yes that is the reason of increase in cancer cases as humans now live long enough to make their cells so weak that they mutate transferring cancer to next generation if they mate
I was also diagnosed with cancer, more specifically with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, it’s a childhood blood cancer that usually is contracted from 2-8 but I was diagnosed when I was 16, December of 2022. It was a ROUGH battle, I was a bulky teen, I had just hit some amazing PRs for my age, I was 190, playing football, wrestling, everything a highschool guy can dream of, and my whole world was turned upside down in a matter of seconds. I went all the way down to 125 lbs, barely able to walk, wanted to sleep all day, and the doctors wouldn’t even let me go to the gym either (which is understandable). But I’ve been on this journey, grinding it out, I’m in remission now and doing my maintenance phase portion, I shot back up to 180, I have an amazing girlfriend, I even got to play 4 games of football for my team and got to wrestle the whole season. You got this dude, trust the process, the weight, size, and strength will all come back in due time, beat cancers butt!
Good on you. Keep on pushing bro.
The part where he revealed he was cancer free made me smile really wide. I also donated €10. I lost too many people in my life to cancer. I once ran collections to raise for cancer but had to stop due to school. I cant wait to see how his journey will go! Congratulations to him for getting cancer free!
bro can still do basically my reps even after chemo, respect.
Nobody sees serious illness coming, but it is particularly difficult when it hits at a young age when you are totally fit and feel indestructible. Ruben is so very positive, and his time spent with Browney - the Positivity King - should certainly give him a boost going forward.
Wow, I had the same kind of cancer just a few years ago, and must say that this man is so brave for documenting his lowest moments (and still making effort to work out) despite all the uncertainties and fears! Really respect you Ruben! So happy for you too! You have a great support system :))
I had lymphoma cancer, i treated it 1 and a half year ago, and i never let my self down on treatment, glad he got better!
God bless that man. What a guy 🙏🙏🙏
This guy is awesome, I wish him and his family/friends nothing but the best. I couldn't even imagine still working out while undergoing treatment.
Can't wait to see the results
This gave me goosebumps. So much respect for him and family. Now can’t wait for Rubens transformation 💪🏻
This video touched my heart. Pray for anyone who is dealing with cancer. God bless you🙏🏽❤️
You’re a great guy Ruben, you are going to nail it! Sadly I have gotten the same news 2 months ago and I had my first treatment 1.5 weeks ago. Super nice to see your perspective, helps a lot 🙏🏻
Ruben, your vulnerability and drive have us all rooting for you. I just donated and hope you stay healthy and happy for a long time. And in case you still need to hear this: you're not small, you're as big as they make 'em! ❤
Bro's stronger than the upper limit of being strong❤
Leukemia Cancer survivor “ALL” , 14 years since my bone marrow transplant. I had 2 months to live at one point. I now have two little girls and a beautiful wife. My motto was always; laugh and joke often…. and never lose hope(+) positive positive positive thoughts (+) Thanks for sharing your journey.
For me it was younger when it first started, I was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma cancer when I was 5 years old. It was hard with missing all the school, not being able to hang out with my friends, eventually having to be homeschooled for a while. But as the years went on it was a lot more injoy able because I had my family and friends that stuck with me through those years. I am now cancer free for about 5-6 years now and my life has been really great now that everything is somewhat back to normal. It sucks, it really does but once you except it and have faith and look past it, it will do great things for you.
I have a lot of respect for this guy. I mean filming is already hard, but when you have cancer and no energy is extra hard
Not gonna lie this is probably one of my favourite video not only on your channel but on entire UA-cam i have ever watched. Also this guy's positivity is something which everyone needs.
This was one of the most incredible and difficult videos I've ever watched. I felt on the verge of tears for 95% of it and when he got the news I was GONE. Very inspiring.
Hats off to him. Amazing attitude, with that positivity. He could almost achieve anything and also it’s a blessing to have a partner like he has !
Mad respect to Ruben for staying strong. Watching the physique you've spent years building disappear is so hard on your mental health. I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called vasulitis and I was given chemo and oral steroids as treatment which caused a lot of muscle wastage. It sucked but when I got back in the gym it was like I had newbie gains all over again. A year later and I'm in the best shape of my life. Cant wait to see Ruben get back his gains as well.
Nederlandse huisartsen, echt waar.
Wow this guy is incredible!! I have so much respect for his grit, perseverance and attitude!! What a legend!!
Browney is absolute inspiration when it comes to persevering through failures and never givin' up! Thanks to your videos I've even started filming home workouts and even if it's not the best yet I'm trying really hard to be better every day!. It might be kinda bad , but I absolutely love what I'm doing, and I know that one day I'll become a fitness influencer too. I believe it with all my heart!
He seems like such a nice guy, so glad he's on the road to recovery
This hits home for me as cancer runs in my family. Watching this I’m driven with inspiration and have now overcome my fear of the future. Keep going Ruben 💪💪
I am so happy for him!!! The work he did is really inspiring me!
that smile is golden. So happy for you man!!!
Cancer sucks you got this bro you still have a better physique than many people 👍
4:58 is that your best body part?
GF: No...
🤣🤣
Watching this makes me appreciate the beauty of life, and staying healthy.
This is one of your best videos ever! And so much respect for Ruben! He's so inspiring and motivating.
This is like what happened to me. I found out I had cancer after finding an enlarged lymph node in my neck. It's been almost 5 years now and I'm still battling and working out when I can.
Keep fighting! Did you have any other symptoms besides the enlarged lymph node?
@@jepie30 My arms and legs were getting really achy, Like I was working them out. At one point I couldn't even walk up the stairs.
This man is coming back stronger after 30days. Muscle memory finna kick in😤
Tears rolled out of my eyes watching the end of the video! More & more power to you! Rooting for you! God bless ❤🫡🙌🦋
Came from snapchat. This is extremely motivating. I was diagnosed with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2017 when I graduated high-school. It's been a roaster ride for sure. It got so bad that I had to be on dialysis for almost 3 years (from nov 2021- Feb 2024). Recently had a kidney transplant on February 23 😁❤ and been slow recovering everyday. Right now I'm trying to get my weight back( I'm currently 128lbs trying to get to at least 150lbs) and go back to normal activities like exercising and working!! Slow motion is better than no motion right now. I'm here for this journey as well as my own. Much love ❤
Lets praise Lord that we are healthy.❤
It was emotional for me to watch it because my best friend recently died from cancer at just 17 years. Just wanted to share it here to make me fell better
I am glad you are okay hope everything will be good for other cancer victims. We will be with you in this journey!!
What an inspiration. Kept a positive attitude through the whole journey, I have such admiration for you Ruben. And i'm so glad you have your beautiful girlfriend by your side what a power couple. All the best in your healing.
The reason why most people go to the gym is because of health benefits (like myself). To see the story of Ruben and knowing that even with hard work and dedication to a healthy lifestyle, your body is not invulnerable. I'm truly thankful that I can watch this. Ruben, I wish you the best of luck for the upcoming period. You already deserve so much respect! The determination and discipline is insane. You can do it! 💪🔥
It's cause its not healthy to work out a lot in the gym, you overly stress your body every time. Long living (healthy) people chill out a lot and stay in or near nature.
He had me in tears he seems so happy and was in great shape and he will come out better and stronger than ever ❤❤❤
Videos like this make me feel grateful for my health, wish him a fast recovery.
Respect to this inspirational strong young man and to his girlfriend. If I were him, I'd marry this beautiful loyal lady right away. She is gold! You can rarely find loyal people like her nowadays. Respect ❤️
I can feel the pain because I went through same. Got cancer when I was 8 years old. Now, I'm 18, so basically, I wasted 4 years of my life through pain. God helped me throughout my 4 years of pain. Without him, I wouldn't be here right now. Every time I thank God that I survived cancer. 🙏
What a soldier.
This really inspired me. I have been feeling down lately, as I have ACL surgery in a few days (soccer injury), which is going to keep me from hitting legs in the gym for months. I'm a 17 y/o gymrat. However, seeing him battle cancer with a smile has put things into perspective for me and motivated me to keep smiling. Keep spreading love!
Been waiting for this one 🔥
This is why you shouldn’t be down on cancer ❤

I got diagnosed with an autoimmune condition about a year ago, some days it’s so hard to even move but I try to keep up with my training on the good days.
