this video is so beautiful in the begining, i looove it! and giving advice is great :) btw you look so gorgeous in the vid in cuba. could you make a little video about how you stay in shape? love from france!
Love that you showed off the beauty of my country! I will be uiploading my own travel diary from Cuba but not from La Havana, it's from te center, Santa Clara. Anyone want to support each other? Check my my travel videos please! Ill check out yours! xoxox
What I love most about you and your channel is that you don't go to all these places for the Instagram picture, you go there for the culture and experience. Thank you for inspiring young people to go outside their comfort zone and travel to these amazing places :)
Totally agree, some of the nicest people we've met on our travels! My husband and I went to Cuba the end of December and loved it! We were in Havana and then hopped over to Trinidad!
Anyone who is planning on traveling to Cuba and are coming from America; don't forget to exchange your US dollars to Euros or Canadian Dollars before exchanging to CUC in Cuba. US Dollars to CUC is a 13% currency exchange fee. It's greatly recommended exchanging from Euros or Canadian dollars, the fee is 2%-3%. Happy travels~
I cant believe it. Because I plan to go to Cuba soon, yesterday I was looking for a travel vlog of you going to Cuba because I couldnt remember if you went to Cuba or Mexico, and in the end I figure out one of your travel vlogs was actually from Mexico. And NOW one day later youre uploading one from Cuba.. just can believe thank you!!
I love you travel vlogs! And this one is definitely my favorite! It's creative and beautiful. I felt like I'm in Cuba. And the music! It was such a positive and bright video. Thank you for it. Now I watch this video over and over again.
Love that you showed off the beauty of my country! I will be uploading my own travel diary from Cuba but not from La Havana, it's from te center, Santa Clara. Anyone want to support each other? Check my my travel videos please! Ill check out yours! xoxox
Just got back for Cuba. Everything you said is true! I was mainly in La Habana (Havana) too. One HUGE extra tip- if you're not having drinks at the hotels, make sure the cafe/restaurant uses filtered water for their ice cubes/salad greens & veggies are washed in filtered water. Trust me on this one! Ask the waitress to be sure. Cuba is beautiful! The people were the best part!
My Family is from Cuba. But I have never been. I was born in Miami, Florida.. so, this was a nice way to see my family's homeland. Now with Castro finally gone, we may go one day! :) Xx
my beautiful country, my beautiful city. You made me so happy to see this being appreciated by others than myself. I hope you received the good island vibes my people give off and felt their love and happiness, even though their circumstances are the darkest
So I am actually from Cuba! And it brings tears to my eyes to be able to see my country because I haven't been back for years myself. My dad just recently went to go see my family and I just wanted to let you know that although Cuba is beautiful, they treat tourists so well because its such a huge part of the economy! However, I encourage that if you go, support as many local businesses as you can. As well as you are being treated, the people who actually live there are suffering, specially in La Havana. The government is still oppressive towards the people, and I feel like that's not going to change in a matter of minutes, but I urge you to give your money to the people of Cuba, not to these huge establishments because they only benefit the government, who doesn't give to the people. I am telling you this from second hand. I lived there for over a third of my life, and my family still currently lives there. The poverty is immense and people struggle every day to survive. It is a GORGEOUS place full of culture and music, but take time to learn why it is the way it is. ALSO!!! Next time visit Veradero Beach! Its one of the most gorgeous beaches in the Caribbean. Also! the province of Santiago de Cuba!
To everyone saying "wow Cuba is amazing", let me explain something. Cuba IS absolutely beautiful, I won't deny that. But that's the problem. Cubans lives out of tourists. If you've ever been there you know how waiters or any worker tries to make you feel amazing to convince you to tip them. The place is a dream, but the life for Cubans is not. So please, don't be fooled, because what you see is not really what it is.
It was my first time using airbnb and I had no issues. So this experience is all I have to go off of so far in regards to airbnb! I'll keep you updated if something changes :)
HCani i've used it a bunch of times, and there have been 1-2 bad experiences. honestly the only thing i can recommend is read the reviews!! don't just assume people are complaining, take their advice
I've done Airbnb so many times! but yes i've heard bad things, dont be hesitant, always read the reviews and always speak to the hosts before hand so you have a level of certainty before you arrive at the country :) xx
I've used it quite a few times now in multiple countries and I've had really great experiences! I just always avoid booking anything that doesn't have any reviews and I make sure to read all of the reviews first as well.
I love how you're trying out this new thing, with musical intro/actual travel vlog and then tourist guide near the end. Been dying to go to Cuba for sooo long😍
I love how you actually explored Habana by foot and chose so many local cafes/bars, the vlog seemed so genuine and I felt like I got a climpse of Cuba too 😍 love you guys!
I totally enjoy watching travel videos. It gives me the vibes from abroad whilst I'm studying and makes me so much happier. Thanks for making math revision so much better!
Cafe bon bon is espresso with some milk and condensed milk 😋 I'm first and second generation Cuban and have always wanted to go see Cuba for myself but being cuban and living in America, the laws make it difficult. It's such a shame that cuba is such a beautiful country with such rich culture but the government power is what makes it so poor. A doctor makes the same wage as a garbage man. Every family gets rations of food every week depending on the family size (and its never enough) 3 eggs a week 1 can of milk for a family of 4. But I'm really glad you enjoyed it and saw the beauty of Cuba and it's culture. You really did a great job showing it's beauty through the camera! Thank you for the beautiful glimpse 💕 CUBA LIBRE 🇨🇺
JeanineElizabeth you can't blame Cuba's government for the fact that Cuba is poor. Cuba is poor cause USA's embargo. It's very difficult to be the only socialist country in the world. sorry for my English I'm Greek. And let me inform you that we suffer too because Usa Germany and these capitalist emperors.
Castro's revolution in Cuba began before the US embargo with Cuba began. The US stopped diplomatic relations with Cuba because Cuba was making trades with the soviet union which was not an ally of the United States and JFK deemed the Soviet Union dangerous and a threat. The government and Fidel's revolution is part of the problem.
I'm so happy someone made a video talking about how great my country is! I'm from Havana and I really enjoy watching this kind of videos because I can see the places that I know from another perspective. Thanks for sharing your experience and for focusing on the good aspects of my beautiful and little island💜💜💜
these travel videos are my favorite! they are so well filmed and beautiful and always full of such helpful tips! thank you for taking the time to make them! :)
It's so nice that you went to my country 😍. I can't tell you how happy it makes me that so many people want to go and liked it. It's also so cool that you did the tip for the travel. I go there every year to see my family and I love it.
This is incredibly beautifully shot haha like it's so satisfying to watch 😍 You're probably the only youtuber whose vids I thumbs up before even watching bc I just know I'll love them! Love you 💕
Gorgeous video!! Loved how you structured this one and gave tips and advice on how to travel there. Cuba is definitely on my list of places to go after watching :)
Tess this video was amazing! I'm obsessed with your travel diaries and I loved that you included advice and a chit chat, so helpful and definitely made it more personal :)
Wow! This was like a video postcard! Stunning! I visited Cuba a long time ago but I really enjoyed it as well. The people are very friendly and the cars are so cool. I didn't enjoy the food (lacked seasoning) although I stayed at a hotel.
I love love loved this! Through a travel agency here in Norway, you can go to Cuba for 11 days with a full packed schedule, and that is really my dream to do once 😍
You always amaze me by your editing skills ! And the way you guys film, it's like artistic , fun and I just enjoy. I'm never disappointed by your videos. Congrats and keep it up !!!
I love the tips and advice after!!! its a super helpful bit after the video!! you should do a video for winter night time looks! like going out or to a party at night in the winter :)
Great video! What's even greater is that it's recent (2017) so this info isn't outdated. I'll be travelling to CUBA from Athens, Greece and I will definitely visit that rooftop bar.."La Guarida".
me encantó este vlog , 😄 pusistes fotos de La habana muy hermosas ! 👌📷/ I loved this Vlog , you had put beautiful photos !!! 😍 Presentas una Habana muy linda , porque lo es.😊😊😊😊
Omg! I love this video so much!! It reminds me of the time I went to Cuba with my boyfriend!! Such a beautiful place and the people are so nice!! I love so much your channel!
I watched your video about 5 times before going on my trip to Havana and all of your tips were SO helpful!! I just got back last week and had the best time in Cuba!!
Can you visit Cuba just for tourism? Which of the 12 categories did you fall under for visiting and did anyone at the border ask you or asked for proof?
no, americans can't go just for tourism. you have to get a visa and in that visa you are given 12 options to why you are visiting Cuba, and tourism is not a choice. my husband and I put down we were there to support the cuban people.. hope this is helpful for any future plans you may have to visit Cuba 😊
staranimalark no she for sure said you can convert the money in Cuba later. You should convert your money to euros before as mentioned in the comment below.
Theres an additional 10% fee on American dollars. When I went I brought Euros, and it was almost 1 to 1. I believe you lose $13 for every $100 exchanged to CUC.
Love love your travel vlogs...I think you have the best ones in You tube! The music goes so perfect with the video and your editing skills are amazing! You are beautiful, so fit and your clothing style is so cool!
Great video, beautiful. I just wish people who go there would also mention the "other side" of the country: no freedom of speech, total control of the press, houses/roads/cars collapsing because nothing is being done since the Castro's took power. You might miss on all that if you don't speak Spanish but if you do, it becomes obvious that the people are far from being OK but just can't afford to emigrate... Very sad.
Exactly. It's so sad to see anyone who goes there say they're fascinated how much Cubans and Cuba 'look and act like they're from a different time era' ... but they don't actually research why :( makes me sad, but at least I really appreciate the fact that Tess didn't stayed at a 5 star all inclusive hotel.
Love that you showed off the beauty of my country! I will be uploading my own travel diary from Cuba but not from La Havana, it's from te center, Santa Clara. Anyone want to support each other? Check my my travel videos please! Ill check out yours! xoxox
- Hello to the courageous person commenting with no name & no picture, very brave of you. I have been to Cuba, I speak Spanish & I know people who live there. I discussed that with them and I actually follow the news - unlike you repeating arguments that you heard but never bothered to check. Last but not least, please watch your language & remain polite. Good day.
- you are mixing up everything. And clearly subject to pro-Castro propaganda. Before you judge, you should check both sides of the story, the truth is probably in between. Which is my country that put Castro in that situation, in your opinion? Such sentences discredit everything else you say. Fact though: Castro has been unable to reach even agricultural self-sufficiency (in a country where the weather allows for up to 3 crops per year) & went from being dependant on the UDSSR to being dependant on Venezuela - both clearly unstable regions. Cuba is doing great? The government is counting 1 peso = 1 CUC when measuring the butto inland product per person (when 1 peso is in fact one 23rd of a CUC), to try to hide their failure. 3 newspapers, all writing the exact same thing everyday. Criminality too high so they just don't measure it - problem solved. But how could the Cubans compare the news & access outside information/opinions when they barely have any access to internet (and to ALL internet) & have no independent source available? Very sad situation...
Tess, I've been following you for quite some time now, and I absolutely love your videos! This video gave me so much life when I saw it! (I'm currently in coldish Chicago) - You definitely motivated me into booking a vacation very soon 😉 thank you for your great tips!
Thanks so much for taking the time to watch! Always trying to inspire you to try something new. Love you guys. Be sure to give this video a like if you enjoy the travel videos! xx
I've always wanted to travel like you do. I really hope I can go there one day. Love your channel.

I've heard many bad things about airbnb, so I'm really hesitant. Can we have a video about that (reviews, tips, advice, etc)? :)
It was my first time using airbnb and I had no issues. So this experience is all I have to go off of so far in regards to airbnb! I'll keep you updated if something changes :)

Cafe bon bon is espresso with some milk and condensed milk 😋
I'm first and second generation Cuban and have always wanted to go see Cuba for myself but being cuban and living in America, the laws make it difficult. Always in love with your travel vlogs- your outfits are always on point!! 😍😍 PS: You and Patrick are legit my fav UA-cam couple!! So cute
Don't bring U.S Dollars to Cuba, you get a 10% fee.
she means like to take out money from your bank account in cuban money, you can do this at pretty much any international airport
Yes. U.S ATM cards don't work. But you should convert your money to Euros or Canadian Dollars before going, it will save you money.
staranimalark no she for sure said you can convert the money in Cuba later. You should convert your money to euros before as mentioned in the comment below.
Hey, when I went I took pesos and US dollars and I didn't notice a difference in the exchange rate. Do you have any idea why?

Yeah I was just about to comment that. I got a very bittersweet feeling seeing this.
This video is so beautiful.
