One of the most beautiful plane's ever made. And the pilot flying it like he stole it
There are few ways that you should fly a race horse like this. Like you stole it is the best one
Nothing’s more beautiful than hearing the meaty brapbrapbrap and the burbled roars of the Pratt-Whitney radials
That’s number one. My number 2 is the Packard V-1650 Merlin
My third is Beech 18 ❤️
Lovely engines
@@Monkey-556 R3350? the R4350 was just a pure monster LOL
Surely one of the most graceful prop planes ever built? Stunning.....
the Tigercat is such a pure elegance
Awesome display. The head on at 2:50 gave me goosebumps 👏
We once saw @ Dayton an F7F Tigercat and an F14 Tomcat - Grumman's twin-engined cats - doing a simultaneous aerobatic display... massively awesome!
Fabulous footage! Such a pleasure to hear flying a/c with proper sound. No music!
My favorite piston airplane
Magnificent performance, a beauty to behold.
I'm not sure there's a prettier plane than the Tigercat.
I think that F7F Tigercat is very, very beautiful plane. It is so beautiful that it is hard to believe that it is a work of Grumman at that time, which was characterized by its ruggedness. Besides the performance is excellent, too.
We were really lucky as Japanese not to have to fight with it (and F8F Bearcat).
Oh man, the thunder, just pure thunder. Love the Tigercat! Another awesome vid!
That first pass was all I needed. The rest was icing, sprinkles, and candles on the cake. Vely Niiice!
Sprinkles are for winners!
Ich könnte mir dieses tolle Video noch 200mal ansehen und würde trotzdem jedesmal wieder glauben, es wäre das 1.Mal!
Immer wieder total toll!💪💪💪
👍😎🇦🇹
I'm a Brit and to me nothing beats a Spitfire's Merlin in terms of noise. Except for Tigercat. And damn you yanks for buying the only one we had here in the UK! 😘
is sally b still actively flying? the ONLY B17 flying fortress still flying in the UK (only one flying in the entire European region).
sorry if we bought your only tigercat..... hopefully whoever bought it is taking good care of it.
i was downright angry when the koreans took our lockheed constellation, AKA mats connie. i saw that aircraft at an airshow years ago. so incredibly majestic, the sound of 4 R3350's is unparalleled.
i do also have an appreciation for the merlin, doesnt matter if they it's a merlin powered mustang, spitfire, or avro Lancaster (i have an appreciation for the lancaster). can you tell the difference between a packard built merlin and a merlin built by rolls royce, or do they sound exactly the same?
btw i have a couple WW2 rifles..... one of them is a lee enfeild MK1 NO4
@@andrewdonohue1853 Yep she is! Actually based 30 mins from me and see her regularly flying over in the airshow season.
Great video AS! That is the first time I've ever seen the F7F not sitting in a static display. Outstanding! Thanks!
All. I. Can. Say. Is!.. Coolest airplane of all time! Saw it first time at the '91 EAA airshow.. The sound of those engines thundering away.. even 500 ft. up.. is positively visceral! I'm sorry this plane never got to see combat in WWII.. the sound alone would strike terror and awe into all.. it is a brute for it's size.. thanks for the great video!
OMG, this MADE MY DAY! I have an RC model of the Tigercat, and I think it's the sexiest of the Grumman Cats. LOVE IT.
Ear candy. This one was from the Airzoo in Kalamazoo Michigan. I remember seeing it back in 2005. But was sold in 2008 due to the recession. That and a bearcat was sold there too. Glad to see it take the skies again!
I have seen this beauty several times she is fast and loud 😮😮😊😊
Stew Dawson’s performances with the F7F are about on par with Lefty Gardner’ s meistro “White Lightnin,” demonstrations. All of the grace and agility, but while the twin 2800’s sound is powerful, the Lightning’s collected Allison moan was awe inspiring with Gardner’s shows.
It doesn't get any better than that. Hot Damn that was awesome.
This is one beautiful cat!
Wow sensational display, many thanks 😊
Stew and Here Kitty Kitty = Dynamic Duo
I was actually pretty scared watching this! Amazing pilot:)
Glorious 😍
Stunning capture, amazing pilot. Holy hell what a graceful plane. Terrifying but graceful. Amazing camera and audio work.
Sounds a lot like the ASW bird, the Grumman Tracker…awesome!!
What a beauty
Man this plane so beautiful Airplane ✈️ F7F Tigercat 👍🏾👍🏾♥️♥️♥️🤗👌🏾
Wow! That's terrific!
Beautiful aircraft!!!! .
The Cat show was amazing
I've always loved cats🐱🐱🐱🐱miau😍
Very very cool
Brilliant capture.
Yes
Super!
Absolutely GREAT!!!!!
That is a beauty! Fantastic show.
耳が逝きました
幸せですありがとうございます生きててよかったです😇😇😇😇😇
a muscle car in the air... and the angriest roar ive ever heard
I really approve of this airplane.😎
Just imagine a dogfight of this against a P-38
What is it with Tigercat owners and that damn smoke?
Amazing!!
Szuper!
You guys have to get a go pro inside one this year........
love
I must know who owns this beauty of a plane, and do they still fly at airshows?
Is it normal for the engines to smoke like that?
Imagine if he flew it at full throttle or close to it. It could top 400mph but it's cruising around gently at
around 250 mph
Actually could, and did fly as fast as 400 kts/hr- about 480 mph. My dad flew them chasing drones (skeet for the fleet) in the mid-1950's. His favorite aircraft ever as a Navy pilot.
Very sexy plane!
One R-2800 roaring by is awesome, but two is downright SCARY!! In a good way, of course..
Too bad it came too late to be mass produced
Is that more maneuverable than a p 51 it seems like it has more performance...?
Most definitely not. I love F7 Tigercat but it’s an interceptor and the P51 is a fighter all the way. The Tigercat only wins in firepower. They are both very fast planes though.
@@hunglikeahorse120 the Tigercat, wins in fire power, climb rate, top speed, and ability to retain speed. A Mustang would have a very hard time besting a Tigercat 1v1.
@@adamkramer3259 The Tigercat would fight the Mustang generally the same way the Hellcat fought the Zero: separate distance, then turn and make high-speed pass and continue on. The late P-51H was basically a different airplane and had incredible climb, though, even better than the Bearcat. However, the Mustang would run out of water injection after 7 minutes then the Tigercat could certainly kill it then if it hadn't killed it already.
@@lqr824 in a tight turning battle, the P51 could probably out-turn the tigercat..... but the tigercat can just run away with it's greater power. 2 large engines vs 1
So what was the F7F designed for? Was it going to be for dogfighting in the Pacific? Or all mad based defense plane of the Islands? Interception Japanese bombers?
Why does it smoke
Like me some Dbl Wasp! But DBL Dbl Wasp?!?…don’t leave me begging for more❤❤!
One ⚽️🏀y airplane.
Put the wind up Japanese AY!!!
Scary plane, looks like a venomous insect
THE HOTTEST SKY HOTROD evvuuhhh ...2 bad the screwhead brits whacked all their D.H. Hornets in the 50s, due to moisture damage to their wooden frames obtained during the Malayan emergency. That s # 2. None remaining even on static ! So, let this bird RULE BRITAIN ,,, ... 🇫🇮
This is a plane that looks like it needs 5' more wing on each side....
Devilishly beautiful
How can you not love a twin engined fighter capable of beating the best single engine.fighters out there. This beauty would have given the mosquito fits and the FW 190 Dora pilots nightmares.
saw this in person at kosh. just thr power of these engines
Thats just bad azz😊
