The czech version is my favorite. I love it so much. I love the wonderful actresses and actors. Who can resist the charm of the Šafránková sisters? 💞The costumes are so beautyful. I like how they create their own version of the world under the sea. Even today I have to cry when the tear runs down the mermaid´s cheek and she kisses the sleeping prince. The wohle film has a bittersweet melancholy. I think this movie mostly reflects the atmosphere of the book by Hans Christian Andersen.
And it is implied I. Czech that the little mermaids mother left her family to become human as she fell in love too.
This is increadibly well done! So beautiful! My personal favorite is the soviet version, but the other ones are hauntingly beautiful too. I also love the 1968 soviet cartoon, it is such a classic.
This needs way more views!! I adore this side-by-side comparison, it's beautiful!! 'The Little Mermaid' is my favorite tale ever, and I love all of this 3 versions. The way you captured the essence of each version and put it together was wonderfully done!
3:30 I love it, the three different witches, but first two aren't evil, but Ursula is obviously the worst.
Oh, soviet Rusalochka is wonderful version of the famous story written by Hans Christian Andersen. This film without extraordinary graphic, at the same time It is with extraordinary actors, characters and plot. The witch, who isn't evel and tries to help little mermaid, Sulpitius, who loves mermaid more than his own life... The final and idea are very interesting! So... I will recommend this film. Unfortunately, this film isn't famous, and I don't know is there any translation of Rusalochka, but if there is, watch it, this film isn't only for children, it is also for edults.

you know her story was extremly tragic?? the boy she love doesnt love her at all, she abandoned all her family for nothing and she kill herself at the end!! just because she was naive and unsatisfied
The little mermaid is not a princess, and just like many other characters, is not Disney's.

@@jenniejohnson6660 I don't watch Disney movies, I despise Disney and hate everything about them, I just like European folklore and fairytales, like the little mermaid or snow white, amongst others.

mala morska vila is my next favourite to the Disney one in keeping with this video. Like rusalochka tho because the prince felt deep regret when he realised he married the wrong princess therefor my ultimate favourite is the 1975 anime version next to the Disney one ❤️

I know it's all mostly from the original faerie tale but... Is it just me or Disney did take a lot from the first one (top left) and that japanese animated version?
Yes, not only did disney completely copy from 1975 japanese version, they also changed the ending and completely ruined the moral of the story.
@JesseGoodwin2635 I thought the reason he didnt want to make the film was because it was too sad? I know there was some conceptual artwork done in the 40s or 50s but walt disney, i believe, decided to put off the project because he didnt like a fairytale without a happy ending
@@evergreen9927 btw I don't think it completely ruined the moral. Triton and Ariel still lost each other in some way. It kinda reasonates with the original tale.

@@shaunwalker2557 Soviet and CZ version ... Disney last. The Soviet is my personal favorite but I like the CZ one, too. Disney's adaption was fun as a kid but disappointing as an adult as it took away the entire moral lesson of the original fairytale.
