I am currently 4 weeks in, on the BPN hybrid program. I needed a change after doing NROL for years (and seeing good results). I like it.., I might try his marathon program next though, as I get ready for another marathon.
Was the program good for maintaining strength? Only one lower body day a week makes me nervous to try this. Wish it was more of an upper/lower/full type of program along with the running. If anyone has thoughts or experience with the program, let me know
I do a 4 days a week upper/lower program in the gym. I want to incorporate running in my training. When should I run, how much, how long and on. What do you recommend?
Imho a no brainer would be to add two 45 min slow runs in zone 2 to build your aerobic base and improve cardiovascular health. If you have no time for that, even two 20 min zone 2 runs with 3 or 4 sprints to max tempo for 10 seconds would be beneficial
Gonna give that BPN app a go, coming back from a HORRENDOUS bicep tendon tear / surgery. Can't wait to get back at it. Another great video! Might be worth looking at some other online plans from the likes of Athlene X etc in the future. 👍🏻
Off top of my head there's also the Centr one by Thor and a few bodybuilding specific ones from Jeff Nippard and other BB UA-camrs! (few extra supplements needed for that Thor look perhaps) ! Sure there's a multitude of really interesting (and ropey) CrossFit / functional fitness ones from the big names!! 😂
From the videos I’ve watched of Nick Bare he’s only ever been a Garmin guy. In fact if I remember correctly, I’ve seen a video where he referred to his Garmin Fenix as a “tool” to get work done, and mentioned he didn’t have any interest in Apple Watches. In fact all of his sponsored athletes have a Whoop strap and a Garmin on their wrists, so makes sense. I’ve even read a blog his wife wrote about how Nick convinced her to switch from an Apple Watch to a Garmin Venu. That all said, I’m an Apple Watch Ultra user as well but won’t hold my breath for AW support. Seems like Nick and his company view Garmin watches as the ultimate sports watch brand so he sought out their support. I’d love to see AW support, but I wouldn’t expect it. However, money talks and I feel like your average user (who they’re targeting?) would likely have an AW so who knows…I’ll hold off trying the app until then. Side note: Great video!
