    Havuç dilimi refers to the shape in which it's sliced. When viewed from above, it resembles a carrot. But rest assured, there’s no actual carrot involved! It's exactly the same as baklava in terms of ingredients and taste; the only difference is the way it's cut, and it tends to be much larger than a typical baklava slice.
    Also, you’ve got to try Çökertme Kebabı. It’s in my top five favorites, along with İskender Kebap!

    I really wish you travelled around Turkiye more often. Especially the blacksea region. There are incredible views there that you cannot find anywhere else in the world, truly truly breathtaking. Unfortunately most tourists go to south west Turkey just to sit by the beach for a week and never explore the amazing places there are. You can even go to skiing 365 days a year in the north east region. It's truly a hidden gem and I hope that you will maybe read this and give it a consideration. Also, in Antalya there will be a lot of Russians and Syrians too. There are a couple really big Turkish streamers in Antalya like Jahrein, if you met him he can show you some good places to go to eat food and outdoor activities, he is originally from Cyprus but has lived there all his life.

    • @Yarenoglu
      @Yarenoglu Місяць тому +3

      Also Dale, you know the real Santa Claus (Saint Nicholas) was born in Turkey, if you have time, you can go to his birth town. He was born in Patara, and lived most of his life in Myra, both of the historical sites are literally right next to the city of Antalya where you're going anyway! Might make a nice Christmas video.

    • @Yarenoglu

    I moved to the Netherlands 5 years ago because of economic struggles and political injustice, and I have never come back to visit. Watching you hang around the city I grew up in made me feel a little emotional. Thank you for the video.

    It’s wonderful that you’ve come to Istanbul, and the places you’ve introduced are lovely. However, Istanbul has even more exclusive spots that could rival some of the most beautiful destinations in Europe. It would be great if you could also showcase these iconic areas:
    • Nişantaşı
    • Bebek
    • Beşiktaş
    • Bağdat Street
    These neighborhoods truly highlight the unique charm and vibrant culture of Istanbul. Showcasing them would give your audience an even deeper appreciation for this incredible city!

    Idk why foreigners go to the Grand Bazaar so much. It's completely a tourist hotspot, but there are much more beautiful and peaceful places, yet they still spend hours there. I have doubts about why they choose this place. As someone from Istanbul, I find it a bit weird though. :)

      Well, it's a controversial question for Turks. However, I'd highly recommend Moda in Kadıköy. There are a lot of boutique cafes and vibrant places, such as opera houses, cafes, and cinemas. You can just explore Kadıköy.
      Another aspect is that Beşiktaş is known for its nightlife, along with Beyoğlu and Galata. You should definitely see Galata in the evening; the rooftop views would be beautiful. The lighting of Galata is very enchanting.
      There are luxurious places in Beyoğlu, but if you want to travel and see more, I would recommend Kadıköy and Moda. However, if you're looking for elite restaurants and high-quality food, I’d suggest Beşiktaş and Beyoğlu on the European side.

    You lucked out big time that your shoes and belt were still there and that you were able to find the shop! Excellent video. The food looked insanely delicious. I am thinking I want to visit Istanbul after watching your series Dale.

    1:28:40 he’s holding the bills in the position for a false count called the Walking Fingers Count, it’s used when counting back change to show one bill twice. No one ever counts bills like that unless they’re used to doing the false count in that position when they’re making change. He already scammed you by giving you a kilo not a half kilo, giving you tea so you think it’s an honest mistake and then shrink wrapping the box so no one would say “take out the extra kilo”. I bet he does that whole procedure every single sale. EDIT : and I bet they also saw you had left your bag behind too. EDIT2: he was totally acting like he hadn’t seen the bag. Why would he immediately say sorry? He would first be surprised to see it. He’s slippery as deerguts on a doorknob.
