NIce one, always good to hear Frankie, if you've not come across the Doub;e Take album, It's a must.
Annette gave bin bags full of Frankies old Demos on cassette etc to David Mackay who worked on these rough sketches of Frankies writing phenomena and collaborated with the likes of Joe Walsh, Rod Stewart, Kid Rock, Elton John, Francis Rossi, Paul Carrack, Huey Lewis, Bonny Tyler, Willie Nelson, Kim Carnes to name a few.
You can't even begin to imagine the finished product!
Go get it, it is awesome.

I am a huge Rod Stewart fan but even he admits this version is better. This should have been a #1 hit by all measures. Who is he competing with in the charts? No one has a voice like this. And it's a perfect, dramatic, so beautiful song. This should have been his big hit, not Darlin'. Eddie Money, Rod, Joe Cocker, Joe Walsh all admitted that Frankie has the gold standard voice. The way he is able to wrap so much around the notes that he still hits perfectly. I am not sure how to describe it. But he is very precise and still able to blurr that precision with emotion at ths same time like no one else can. To bad we lost his voice so soon. Thank G-d he persisted despite his lack of popularity in the emotionally deaf public.
